이번 공약은 황 예비후보가 지난 21대 총선 당시 공약으로 제시했던 첨단재활의료기기복합단지 조성 공약을 현재 상황에 맞게 업그레이드한 것이다. 

그는 “세계적으로 고령화가 가속되는 가운데 재활의료기술의 발달로 시장의 규모가 매년 5.9%의 성장률을 보이고 있다”고 설명했다.

이어 “첨단재활의료기기 제조를 위해서는 전기, 전자 및 소프트웨어 등 다양한 전문분야의 협업이 필요해 고용창출 효과가 크다”며 “그러나 국내시장 규모는 약 1조 7000억 원이나 대부분의 사업자 규모가 영세해 업체당 평균 직원 수는 2.7명에 불과하다”고 지적했다.

그러면서 “산업단지 조성을 통해 첨단기술이 집적되면 영세성 극복은 물론 협업 및 연구가 활성화돼 관련 산업은 크게 성장할 것으로 기대된다”고 강조했다.

황영헌 예비후보는 “첨단재활의료산업단지 조성을 통해 신규 고용창출 확대 및 지역경제 활성화가 가능하다. 첨단재활의료산업단지의 성공을 위해 지역의 의사, 교수와 함께 구체적인 추진방안을 마련할 계획”이라며 “이와 동시에 의료개혁을 가로막는 규제를 철폐하는 등 사업성공을 위한 법령개정 등 다양한 활동을 전개할 것이다”고 밝혔다.
