대구시에 따르면 올해는 지역 경기회복과 시민의 활력을 불어넣기 위해 예년과 같은 상반기에 추경예산안을 편성했다.

대구시는 올해도 흔들림 없는 건전재정 기조속에서 TK신공항 건설 조기 착수, FIX 2024(미래혁신기술박람회) 개최, 대구의료원 통합외래진료센터 구축, 동부소방서 이전신축, 대구대표도서관 건립 등 시급한 중점 현안을 빈틈없이 적기에 지원하고, 시민생활과 밀접한 법정 필수경비도 추경예산에 반영했다.

또한 신천 수변공원화사업, 금호강 르네상스, 수성못 월드클래스 수상공연장조성을 비롯해 시민들의 지친 일상을 위로하고 희망을 전하는 K-트로트 페스티벌, 제76주년 국군의 날 위문공연, DIMF 뮤지컬 스타 경연대회등 시민들이 일상에서 체감할 수 있는 다양한 사업을 이번 추경에 편성했다.

또한 전국 최초로 대학정책국을 신설한 대구광역시는 지난 3월 전국 최초 도심캠퍼스1호관에 이어 2호관도 추가 조성에 나서 도심 일대에 활기를 불어넣는다.

IB 교육 전문가 양성지원도 강화해 전국적으로 열풍을 일으키고 있는 국제인증 교육과정(IB, International Baccalaureate)의 선도도시로 거듭날 계획이다. 그리고 청년들에게는 청년 전·월세 지원과 청년희망 적금등 희망과 기회를 제공할 수 있는 예산도 적극 편성했다.
