군에 따르면 황인수 영덕부군수와 관계 공무원들은 설 연휴 기간 화목보일러 안전관리 실태를 비롯해 소화기 비치 여부, 재 처리 관리 상태, 산불감시원 직무 수행 상황 등 산불 발생 위험 요인을 중점적으로 점검했다.

현재 영덕군은 산불 ‘경계’ 단계에 준하는 대응 태세를 유지하고 있다. 화목보일러 책임 공무원을 지정해 마을별 순찰과 안전 점검을 강화하는 한편, 초기 대응 역량 확보에 행정력을 집중하고 있다.

또 전 실·과·소 및 읍·면 직원 6분의 1이 산불 예방 현장점검에 참여하고 있으며, 산림과 직원 3분의 1은 산불대책본부 운영에 투입해 24시간 상황 관리와 신속 대응체계를 유지하고 있다.

이와 함께 봄철 산불조심 기간 동안 △드론을 활용한 산불 취약지 순찰 강화 △산불 진화 장비 사전 점검 △마을 방송 및 문자 알림을 통한 예방 홍보 등 다각적인 대응 시스템을 가동할 계획이다.

황인수 영덕부군수는 “작은 부주의가 대형 산불로 이어질 수 있는 만큼 예방이 곧 최고의 대응이라는 원칙 아래 관계기관과의 공조 체계를 강화하고 있다”며 “군민들께서도 화목보일러 사용 시 안전 수칙을 철저히 지키고, 논·밭두렁 및 쓰레기 소각 행위를 자제해 달라”고 당부했다.

Yeongdeok County Governor Hwang In-soo stated, "Since even a small carelessness can lead to a large-scale forest fire, we are strengthening our cooperative system with relevant organizations under the principle that prevention is the best response. We urge residents to strictly adhere to safety rules when using wood-burning boilers and refrain from burning trash in rice paddies, field ridges, and along rice paddies."
