이번 행사는 설 명절을 맞아 소비자들이 국내산 수산물을 보다 저렴하게 구매할 수 있도록 마련됐다. 영덕전통시장에서는 오전 8시부터 오후 4시까지, 강구시장에서는 오전 11시부터 오후 7시까지 각각 행사가 진행된다.
환급 대상 품목은 두 시장에서 판매되는 국내산 수산물과 수산 가공품으로, 동해안에서 생산된 신선하고 안전한 수산물을 합리적인 가격에 구매할 수 있도록 구성됐다.
환급 기준은 당일 수산물 구매 금액에 따라 3만4천 원 이상 6만7천 원 미만일 경우 1만 원, 6만7천 원 이상일 경우 2만 원 상당의 온누리상품권을 지급한다. 환급을 희망하는 구매자는 수산물 구매 후 영수증과 본인 확인을 위한 신분증을 지참해 시장 내 환급소를 방문하면 된다.
특히 이번 행사는 2021년 화재로 전소된 영덕전통시장이 재건축을 마치고 개장한 이후 처음 열리는 할인 행사로, 단순한 소비를 넘어 지역의 역사와 문화를 함께 체험할 수 있는 의미 있는 자리로 기대를 모으고 있다.
정제훈 영덕군 해양수산과장은 “이번 설맞이 수산물 온누리상품권 환급행사를 통해 영덕전통시장과 강구시장이 더욱 많은 사랑을 받고, 지역 경제 활성화에도 크게 기여하길 기대한다”고 말했다.

Shoppers wishing to receive a refund can visit the refund booth in the market with their receipt and identification after purchasing seafood.
This event marks the first discount event since the Yeongdeok Traditional Market, which was completely destroyed by a fire in 2021, reopened after reconstruction. It is expected to be a meaningful opportunity for visitors to experience the region's history and culture beyond mere consumption.
