단일화에 대한 방법도 제시했다. 당 경선룰에 맞춰 일반 여론조사와 책임당원 조사를 각각 50% 씩 반영해 단일후보를 결정하고 패한 후보는 승복하는 방식이다. 조사 방법으로는 책임당원의 경우, 기배부된 명부를 활용하고, 시민여론조사는 안심번호가 시간상 불가능하므로 유선전화 방식이 좋겠다고 했다.
