국민의힘 대구시장 후보가 3명으로 압축되면서 1위를 달리고 있는 홍준표 후보에 대한 견제 및 후보 단일화도 속도를 낼 것으로 전망된다. 단일화는 적어도 이번주 결론을 낼 것이란 전망이다.

현재 대구시장 후보군에서 홍 예비후보는 두 후보에 비해 두 자릿수 높은 지지율을 확보하고 있다. 다만, 최고 정점을 찍었던 지난 달 대비 4월 성적표는 그리 좋지 않다. 점점 지지율은 하락하고 2,3위와의 격차도 줄어들고 있다.
