옥포읍은 교통불편지역의 거동불편자, 고령 및 장애로 행정기관 방문이 어려워 한시 긴급 생활자금 신청이 곤란한 가구를 선별하여 찾아가는 서비스를 추진한다. 

배경옥 옥포읍장은 "저소득층 한시 긴급생활 지원금이 경제적 어려움을 겪는 저소득층 생계부담을 완화하고, 지역경제활력에 도움이 되기를 바란다.”며“불편함 없이 신속하고 편리하게 신청·수령 할 수 있도록 지원하고 나눔으로 하나 되어 더 행복한 옥포읍을 만드는 데 노력하겠다.”고 밝혔다.
