16일 구미시에 따르면 김 시장은 구자근, 김영식 지역구 국회의원, 주호영 국민의힘 원내대표, 이철규, 정희용, 이인선 등 예산결산특별위원회 소속 국회의원, 최상대 기획재정부 2차관을 비롯한 기재부 주요인사 등을 차례로 만나 내년도 국비 확보에 적극적인 지원을 요청했다.

특히 이날 면담에서는 내년도 구미시가 역점추진하고 있는 반도체 융합부품혁신제조 플랫폼 구축, 지방주도 일자리 거점센터 건립, 한류메타버스전당 조성을 위한 메타버스 데이터센터 구축, 근로자 위해예방 XR 메타버스 안전산단 구축, 산동장천 산장지구 다목적 농촌용수개발사업등의 지역현안사업이 국회예산 심의과정에서 증액 또는 추가될 수 있도록각별한 관심과 지원을 요청했다.

김장호 구미시장은 “정부의 건전재정 기조로 국비확보가 그 어느 때 보다 어려운 상황이지만 지역 정치권과 적극 협력해 지역 현안사업이 내년도 예산에 최대한 반영 될 수 있도록 최선을 다할 것”이라고 말했다.
