【브레이크뉴스 경북】이성현 기자=이철우 도지사는 27일 도청 1층 열린도서관에서 올해 성과와 내년 도정운영방향에 대한 기자간담회에서 2022년 한해를 ‘지방시대를 위한 대전환의 한해’라 평가했다.

이는 지난 대선직후 이철우 도지사의 제안으로 대통령직 인수위원회에 균형발전TF가 만들어 졌고 그것이 ‘지방시대’라는 국정목표로까지 채택된 것에 대한 자긍심의 표현으로 해석된다.

특히, 10년을 넘게 끌었던 영일만 횡단대교 건설을 위한 예산이 확정되었고, 중부선 철도 유일의 미연결 구간이었던 문경~상주~김천 건설사업이 6년 만에 예비타당성조사를 통과하며 새 정부와 경북도의 호흡을 통한 자신감으로 연결됐다.

이외에도 전년 대비 9.3% 증가한 10조 9,514억원에 달하는 국가투자예산확보 실적과 반도체 기업들의 초대형 투자가 견인한 투자유치의 성과들도 소개됐다.

미래산업 육성을 위해서는 6000억원이 넘는 ‘동남권 산단대개조’ 사업과 ‘농공단지 대개조’ 사업 유치, 경산의 ‘전기차 무선충전 규제자유특구’ 그리고 메타버스 관련 국비확보를 성과로 꼽았다.

특히, 규제자유특구의 성과를 소개하면서 2019년 이후 경북의 4개 특구에 70개의 기업이 이전하고 4조1634억원의 투자유치를 통해 1500개가 넘는 일자리를 만들었다는 측면을 강조했다.

지난 9월 한덕수 총리도 “경북의 규제자유특구는 지역균형발전의 모범사례로 규제자유특구 제도의 발전에 큰 기여를 하고 있다”는 발언을 한 바 있다.

이철우 지사도 이날“규제는 풀고 신산업을 키워가는 경북의 성공방정식을 지속하겠다”고 약속했다.

탈원전으로 그간 시름하던 동해안 지역경제는 원전건설재개를 통해 돌파구를 마련했고 경북을 ‘청정에너지 산업벨트’로 육성하겠다는 점도 강조되었다.

특히 새정부 들어 경북은 원자력을 포함한 동해안의 에너지부문을 국가전략산업으로 만들기 위해 경주의 SMR특화단지와 울진의 원자력수소 국가산업단지의 신규지정을 국토부에 신청해 놓은 상황이다.

이외에도 ‘하회별신굿탈놀이’와 ‘청단놀음’을 포함한 ‘한국의 탈춤’이 유네스코 인류무형문화유산으로 지정된 일과 APEC정상회의 유치에 도전하고 있는 경주가 ‘국제회의 복합지구’로 지정된 것을 성과로 꼽았다.
