【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시의회(의장 김일만)가 지방의회 인사권 독립 이후 시의회 소속 첫 사무국장이 취임했다.

5일 포항시의회에 따르면 시의회는 지난 3일 인사위원회를 열어 포항시의회 첫 서기관 승진인사를 의결했고, 신임 장재각 사무국장이 4일 취임해 업무를 개시했다.

2022년 1월 개정지방자치법이 시행되며 의회의 인사권은 독립됐지만, 그간 포항시의회 사무국장직은 포항시 소속의 4급 국장이 파견돼 업무를 수행해왔다.

포항시의회 소속으로 첫 사무국장에 취임한 장재각 사무국장은 1989년 공직에 처음 입문해 포항시 기획예산과, 자치행정과, 자원순환과 등을 거치며 포항시 발전을 위해 노력해 왔다.

특히, 지난 2022년 인사권 독립과 함께 의회직 공무원으로 전환해 포항시의회 경제산업위원회 전문위원으로 근무하며 의원들의 의정활동을 빈틈없이 지원하며 의회 발전에 힘써왔다.

신임 장 사무국장은 “36년간의 공직 경험을 바탕으로 의원들의 의정활동을 최선을 다해 지원하고, 직원 간 화목하고 즐거운 분위기에서 일할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 취임소감을 밝혔다. 이어 “지역발전과 시민의 복리증진이라는 공동 목표를 갖고 있는 의회와 포항시의 가교역할에도 최선을 다하겠다”고 덧붙였다.
