이날 오전 김일만 의장을 비롯해 이재진 부의장, 각 상임·특별위원장, 지역구 의원들은 큰동해시장을 찾아 물가 상승과 장기적인 경기침체로 어려움을 겪고 있는 상인들을 격려했다. 의원들은 명절 제수품을 직접 구매하는 장보기 행사를 통해 전통시장 이용 촉진에 힘을 보탰다.

오후에는 해병대 제1사단과 교육훈련단, 해군 항공사령부를 차례로 방문해 설 연휴 기간에도 지역 방위와 시민 안전을 위해 근무하는 장병들에게 감사의 뜻을 전하고 위문금을 전달했다.

이어 장애인 복지시설인 ‘도움터 기쁨의집’을 방문해 위문품을 전달하고 시설 운영 현황과 환경을 점검하는 한편, 현장에서 근무하는 종사자들을 격려했다.
