이날 오후 6시 30분, 군위군민회관 대강당에서 군위군 관내 학부모 등 150여 명을 대상으로 대구시교육청, 군위초·중·고 거점학교 운영을 통한 ‘더 좋은 교육으로 더 나은 군위 교육 학부모 설명회’가 개최된다.

대구시교육청은 지난달 20일 군위초·중·고 거점학교 육성 계획을 발표했다. 이에 따라 면 단위에 위치한 소규모학교 학생들의 군위초·중 전학을 유도하는 ‘일방향 공동통학구역 조정제도’를 이번 9월부터 전면 시행하겠다고 밝혔다.

군위군 교사, 학부모들은 “대구시교육청이 군위 거점학교와 통학구역조정을 발표하기 이전 지역 주민이나 양육자, 학생, 교사 등의 의견을 제대로 수렴하지 않았다”며 반발했다.

이에 대구시교육청은 설명회를 개최하고 강은희 교육감이 직접 나서 군위 거점학교 운영의 필요성과 군위초·중·고 12년간 지속 가능한 국제수준의 교육 실현 등 군위 교육 비전을 제시할 예정이다. 학부모와의 질의·응답을 통해 궁금증을 해소하는 시간도 가진다.

아울러 ‘대구 미래형 군위군 거점학교 육성 TF’를 구성하고 학생 개별 여건 및 특성을 고려한 ▶통학 지원, ▶복지 지원, ▶심리·정서 지원 등 학생 맞춤형 지원방안을 마련할 계획이다.

강은희 교육감은 “군위초·중·고 거점학교 육성 정책에 대해 학부모와 학생의 공감대를 충분하게 형성할 수 있는 자리가 될 것이다”라고 말했다.
