그러나 기자회견 이후에도 두문불출이 이어지자 지난 24일에는 동구 주민들이 윤석준 대구 동구청장에 대한 사퇴 촉구 및 직무 소홀에 대한 감사 청구 계획을 밝히기도 했다.

이에 대해 민주당 대구시당은 “동구 주민들의 사퇴 요구는 지역 사회가 행정의 책임성과 투명성을 얼마나 중요하게 여기는지 보여준다”며 “이는 윤 청장 개인에 대한 문제 제기를 넘어, 지역 행정의 민주성 회복과 지역 발전을 위한 절박한 목소리”라고 설명했다.

이들은 “윤 청장은 지금이라도 자신의 잘못을 직시하고, 구민 앞에 머리를 숙여 사죄하는 동시에 사퇴해야 한다”며 “사퇴는 윤 청장이 그 책임을 다할 수 있는 마지막 기회이며, 동구 행정 정상화의 첫걸음이 될 것”이라고 강조했다.
