하지만 윤 구청장 측은 14일 항소장을 제출하며 끝까지 구청장직을 사수하겠다는 의지를 공식화했다. 법원의 엄중한 판결에도 불구하고 자리에 매달리는 모습에 시민들의 비판이 거세지고 있다.

이날 안평훈 동구의원은 "2023년 11월부터 윤석준 구청장의 공백이 시작됐는데, 그때부터 지금까지 노남옥 의원과 저와 함께 윤석준 구청장 공백에 관해서 계속 지적해 왔다"며 "하지만 지금까지 변화가 없다"고 강하게 비판했다.

그러면서 "처음부터 사퇴 압박을 하지 않았던 이유는 선거를 다시 치르게 되면 국민의 혈세가 다시 사용되기 때문에, 지금이라도 빨리 몸을 회복하고 와서 국민들을 위해 일을 해달라고 했지만 이제는 늦었다"며 "시간이 없으니 이제는 사퇴하시라"고 목소리를 높였다.

정의당 대구시당 동구위원회 양희 위원장 또한 비판에 힘을 실었다. "재판장에 선 것만으로도 주민 신뢰를 잃은 것 아닌가. 구청장은 구민의 삶을 책임지는 자리인데 윤석준 청장은 자격을 잃었다"고 단언했다.

양 위원장은 "동구청도 투명하고 책임있는 행정체계를 만들어라. 오늘 이 자리가 더 나은 동구 만드는 자리가 되길 바란다"며 행정 혁신의 필요성을 강조했다.

집회에 참석한 한 주민은 "일 년 가까이 구청장이 제대로 일하지 않는데 월급은 그대로 받고 있다. 이게 말이 되느냐"며 분개했다. 

또 다른 주민은 "법원에서 당선무효형까지 선고했는데도 항소하며 버티는 모습을 보니 정말 뻔뻔하다"고 목소리를 높였다.

윤석준 구청장을 둘러싼 논란이 계속되면서 동구 행정의 공백과 신뢰도 추락이 심각한 수준에 이르렀다는 비판이 제기되고 있다. 

시민들은 "더 이상 참을 수 없다"며 윤 구청장의 즉각적인 사퇴를 강력히 요구하고 있다.

Chairman Yang emphasized the need for administrative reform, saying, "Dong-gu Office must also establish a transparent and accountable administrative system. I hope today's meeting will serve as an opportunity to create a better Dong-gu."

One resident who attended the rally expressed his indignation, saying, "The mayor hasn't done his job properly for nearly a year, yet he's still receiving his salary. How can this be possible?"

Another resident raised his voice, saying, "It's truly shameless to see him appeal the court's invalidation of his election."

As the controversy surrounding Mayor Yoon Seok-joon continues, criticism is mounting that the administrative vacuum and lack of trust in Dong-gu have reached a critical level.

Citizens are strongly demanding Mayor Yoon's immediate resignation, saying, "We can't stand it any longer."
