오는 21일 오후 6시 동구청 앞에서 윤석준 구청장의 즉각 사퇴를 촉구하는 주민 집회가 개최된다.

윤 구청장은 지난 2022년 6·1 지방선거 당시 선관위에 신고하지 않은 개인 계좌에서 5300만원을 수입·지출한 정치자금법 위반 혐의로 기소됐다. 

대구지법 형사5단독 안경록 부장판사는 지난 7일 당선무효형에 해당하는 벌금 200만원을 선고했다. 그러나 윤 구청장 측은 14일 항소장을 제출하며 구청장직 사수 의지를 공식화했다.

이에 안심이음, 대구참여연대 동구주민회, 분권과자치 동구사람들, 비행공해대책위원회, 대구시민단체연대회의 등 시민단체와 더불어민주당, 진보당, 정의당, 조국혁신당 등 정당들이 함께 윤석준 구청장의 사퇴를 촉구할 예정이다.

황순규 진보당 대구시당 위원장은 "다른 곳 같으면 잘리거나, 책임을 지고 물러나야 하는 상황 아닌가"라며 "구청장이 임기 절반이나 구정을 살피지 못하는 이런 상황을 바로잡을 제도가 없다. 많은 주민들이 이 사실을 알게되길 바라는 마음으로 집회를 하게 됐다"고 말했다.

정의당 대구시당 동구위원회 양희 위원장은 "아무리 건강상의 문제라고 하지만 오랜 기간 단체장의 업무를 수행할 수 없다면 직위를 내려놓는 것이 주민들에 대한 최소한의 예의"라며 "기대'는커녕 '걱정'만 끼치고, 책임은 고사하고 자리만 지키는 구청장은 필요 없다"고 강조했다.

Hwang Soon-gyu, chairman of the Daegu City Chapter of the Progressive Party, stated, "In other places, this would be a situation where the mayor would be fired or take responsibility and step down." He added, "There is no system to rectify this situation where the mayor is unable to oversee the district for half of his term. I decided to hold this rally in the hope that many residents will become aware of this."

Yang Hee, chairman of the Dong-gu Committee of the Justice Party's Daegu City Chapter, emphasized, "Even if it's due to health issues, if the mayor is unable to perform his duties for an extended period of time, stepping down from his position is the least courtesy he can show residents. We don't need a mayor who only causes 'worry' rather than 'expectations,' and who simply clings to his position without taking responsibility."
