【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=윤석준 동구청장이 정치자금법 위반 혐의로 1심에서 당선무효형인 벌금 200만 원을 선고받았지만, 여전히 구청장직을 유지하려는 태도로 지역사회의 공분을 사고 있다.

지난 7일 윤석준 청장은 정치자금법 위반 혐의로 벌금 200만 원을 선고받았다. 100만 원 이상의 벌금형이 최종 확정되면 구청장직을 잃게 된다.

시민단체 우리복지시민연합은 “무책임하고 몰염치한 행위로 지역민을 우롱하는 것”이라며 윤 청장의 즉각 사퇴를 강력히 촉구했다. 

이들은 “굳이 항소하겠다면 최소한 사퇴 후에 해야 할 일”이라고 목소리를 높였다.

또한 국민의힘 대구시당에 대해서도 “지역 정치의 환멸을 불러오는 소속 정치인의 불법 행위를 묵인하는 것은 책임 있는 정당의 모습이 아니라 파렴치한 태도”라고 비판했다.

진보당 대구시당 역시 동구청 앞 기자회견에서 “2년 넘게 행정 공백이 지속되는 상황에서 당선무효형까지 받은 윤 청장이 구정을 방해하고 있다”며 즉각적인 사퇴를 요구했다.

한 동구 주민은 “세금을 내는 주민들이 구청장이 출근하는지 걱정해야 하는 현실이 말이 되느냐”고 격앙된 심경을 전했다.

하지만 국민의힘 대구시당은 “무죄추정 원칙에 따라 대법원 판결 전까지는 징계 계획이 없다”는 입장을 밝혔다.

The Daegu City chapter of the Progressive Party also held a press conference in front of the Dong-gu District Office, demanding the immediate resignation of Mayor Yoon, who was even sentenced to an invalid election, as he obstructed the district administration amidst a two-year administrative vacuum.

A Dong-gu resident expressed his outrage, asking, "Does it make sense that taxpayers have to worry about whether the district mayor will even show up for work?"

However, the Daegu City chapter of the People Power Party stated, "In accordance with the presumption of innocence, there are no plans for disciplinary action until the Supreme Court rules."
