【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경북대학교 북문 골목에 자리한 청문당에서 대중에게 친숙한 스타 작가 권지안(솔비)를 초청전을 열고 새로운 변화를 시도한다.

행복북구문화재단은 오는 10월 14일부터 11월 22일까지 가수이자 시각예술가 권지안(솔비) 초대전 '언어의 리듬'을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 전시에서는 권지안의 대표 연작인 '허밍레터 시리즈'와 '애플 시리즈'를 청문당 전시실에서 선보인다. 

'허밍레터 시리즈'는 아버지를 떠나보낸 뒤 작가가 음악 작업 중 느낀 그리움과 고마움, 슬픔을 언어가 아닌 멜로디의 흥얼거림으로 표현하면서 시작됐다.

작가는 "글이나 말로는 담아낼 수 없는 감정을 허밍으로 풀어냈다"며, 그 경험을 프랑스 지베르니 '모네의 정원'에서 받은 영감과 함께 화폭에 옮겼다. 

허밍을 "입으로 하는 청각 낙서이자 생명을 의미하는 언어"라고 설명하며, 흐르는 리듬 속에서 관람객이 자기만의 감정을 발견하기를 바란다고 전했다.

'애플 시리즈'는 작가가 미술을 시작하며 가장 많이 접했던 조롱 섞인 댓글 "사과는 그릴 줄 아니?"에서 출발했다.

권지안은 이를 단순한 상처로 남기지 않고, 알파벳 26자를 사과 모양의 폰트로 변주해 온라인 언어 폭력을 예술적 기호로 다시 만들어냈다. 알루미늄과 메탈의 차가운 질감을 활용해 사이버 공간의 폭력성을 키치적이고 위트 있게 풀어내며, "저에게 악플은 또 다른 미술 재료였다"고 말한다.

이번 전시는 단순한 감상을 넘어 관람객이 스스로 감정 언어를 기록하고 표현해보는 AI 프로그램을 활용한 참여와 체험으로 넓어진다. 

전시실 2층 '오늘의 기분'은 AI 음악 생성 프로그램이 만들어내는 자연의 소리를 작품과 함께 감상할 수 있다. 

전시실 3층 '나만의 허밍 드로잉'은 직접 관람객이 '허밍'을 녹음하고 시각적으로 다시 감상할 수 있는 참여형 공간으로 꾸며진다.

지역 청년예술가 황주승과 협업해 시민들이 직접 '애플 시리즈'를 3D로 재구성하는 '미니어처 애플 시리즈' 체험 프로그램도 마련했다. 10월 25일부터 11월 15일까지 매주 토요일 오전 11시에 진행되며, 행복북구문화재단 홈페이지에서 사전접수를 통해 누구나 참여 가능하다.

'애플 시리즈' 작품을 1/9 비율로 줄여 3D 프린트로 만든 사과 모양의 비즈들과 알파벳 26자 비즈들을 활용한 '미니어처 굿즈 만들기'도 상시 운영된다.

오픈식은 10월 21일 오후 4시에 열리며, 권지안 작가와의 만남과 대화가 준비돼 있어 작품 세계와 창작의 배경을 직접 들을 수 있는 특별한 시간이 마련됐다. 오프닝 퍼포먼스로 이선민(한국무용)의 'Flower from heaven'(연출 최석민) 공연도 감상할 수 있다.

박정숙 행복북구문화재단 대표이사는 "이번 초대전은 언어의 힘과 그 이면을 돌아보고, 예술을 통해 치유와 화해의 메시지를 전하는 자리"라며 "대구 시민들이 권지안 작가의 작업을 통해 예술의 울림과 치유를 경험하게 되길 바란다"고 밝혔다.

Cheongmundang, located in the alleyway near the north gate of Kyungpook National University, is initiating a new chapter with an exhibition featuring the popular star artist Kwon Ji-an (Solbi).

The Happy Bukgu Cultural Foundation announced that it will host "Rhythm of Language," an exhibition featuring singer and visual artist Kwon Ji-an (Solbi), from October 14th to November 22nd.

This exhibition will showcase Kwon Ji-an's signature works, the "Humming Letter Series" and the "Apple Series," in the Cheongmundang exhibition hall.

The "Humming Letter Series" began when the artist, after the passing of her father, expressed the longing, gratitude, and sadness she felt while working on music through the humming of melodies, rather than words.

The artist stated, "I used humming to express emotions that cannot be expressed in words or words," and she translated this experience onto canvas, drawing inspiration from her visit to Monet's Garden in Giverny, France.

Describing humming as "a verbal auditory doodle, a language that symbolizes life," she hopes viewers will discover their own emotions within the flowing rhythm.

The "Apple Series" began with the mocking comment, "Can't you draw an apple?", a frequent one she encountered when she began her art career.

Kwon Ji-an didn't simply leave this as a scar. Instead, she transformed the 26 letters of the alphabet into an apple-shaped font, reimagining online verbal abuse as an artistic symbol. Using the cool texture of aluminum and metal, she wittily and kitschyly interprets the violence of cyberspace. She explains, "For me, malicious comments were just another medium for art."

This exhibition expands beyond mere appreciation, embracing participation and experience through AI programs that allow visitors to record and express their own emotional language.

On the second floor of the exhibition hall, "Today's Mood" features natural sounds created by an AI music generator, allowing visitors to enjoy the artwork alongside their own experiences.

The "My Own Humming Drawing" section on the third floor of the exhibition hall is designed as an interactive space where visitors can record and visually replay their own "humming."

In collaboration with local young artist Hwang Ju-seung, the "Miniature Apple Series" experience program allows citizens to recreate the "Apple Series" in 3D. The program runs every Saturday at 11:00 AM from October 25th to November 15th, and anyone can participate by pre-registering on the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation website.

A "Miniature Goods Making" program, featuring 3D-printed apple-shaped beads and 26-letter alphabet beads, scaled down to 1/9th the scale of the "Apple Series," is also offered.

The opening ceremony will be held on October 21st at 4:00 PM. A special meet-and-greet with artist Kwon Ji-an will be held, offering a chance to learn more about her work and the background behind her creations. The opening performance will also feature Lee Seon-min (Korean dance) performing "Flower from Heaven" (directed by Choi Seok-min).

Park Jeong-sook, CEO of the Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation, stated, "This invitational exhibition explores the power of language and its hidden meaning, and delivers a message of healing and reconciliation through art. I hope that Daegu citizens will experience the resonance and healing of art through Kwon Ji-an's work."
