【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=팝아트의 대중성과 위트를 도시 공간 속에 불어넣는 특별한 야외 전시가 대구 북구에서 열린다.

(재)행복북구문화재단(대표이사 박정숙)은 오는 26일부터 7월 27일까지 어울아트센터 전역에서 야외전시 'POP!POP!'을 개최한다고 밝혔다.

이번 전시는 강렬한 색채와 만화적 캐릭터, 상징적 기호 등을 활용해 현대인의 감정과 일상을 유쾌하게 재해석한 팝아트 작품들을 선보이며, 누구나 쉽게 예술을 경험할 수 있는 열린 전시 공간을 조성했다.

전시에는 ▲김민정 ▲김성수 ▲김채연 ▲이정은 ▲임은지 작가 등 5명이 참여해 각자의 독창적 시선으로 감정의 도상화, 시간의 구조화, 행복 탐색 등의 동시대적 메시지를 담아냈다.

특히 김민정·김채연 작가는 협업을 통해 감정을 정화하는 공간을 제안하고, 김성수 작가는 가상 캐릭터 ‘ICUPU(I CUP U)’로 시간과 존재에 대한 질문을 던진다. 이정은 작가는 산책자의 시선으로 일상 속 풍경을 새롭게 조형화했으며, 임은지 작가는 ‘행복 탐험가’라는 자아를 통해 삶의 의미를 되짚는다.

이번 전시는 어울아트센터 야외 공원에 24시간 개방되며, 시민 누구나 산책 중 작품과 우연히 조우할 수 있는 예술적 일상 경험을 제공한다.

또한, 시민 참여 프로그램도 마련됐다. 이정은 작가와 함께하는 <이모저모>는 6월 21일, 22일 오후 1시 30분부터 3시까지 진행되며, 사전 신청(선착순)은 재단 홈페이지에서 가능하다.

박정숙 대표이사는 “이번 전시는 예술이 어렵고 멀다는 인식을 벗어나, 누구나 일상 속에서 자연스럽게 예술을 향유할 수 있도록 기획했다”며, “감상은 물론 직접 참여를 통해 예술과 감각의 즐거움을 함께 느껴보시길 바란다”고 전했다.

A special outdoor exhibition that breathes the popularity and wit of pop art into urban spaces will be held in Buk-gu, Daegu.

The Happy Buk-gu Cultural Foundation (CEO Park Jeong-sook) announced that it will hold an outdoor exhibition titled 'POP! POP!' at the Aul Art Center from the 26th to July 27th.

This exhibition presents pop art works that humorously reinterpret the emotions and daily lives of modern people using intense colors, cartoonish characters, and symbolic symbols, and has created an open exhibition space where anyone can easily experience art.

Five artists, including ▲Kim Min-jung ▲Kim Seong-su ▲Kim Chae-yeon ▲Lee Jeong-eun ▲Im Eun-ji, participated in the exhibition, each with their own unique perspectives to convey contemporary messages such as the iconography of emotions, the structuring of time, and the exploration of happiness.

In particular, artists Kim Min-jung and Kim Chae-yeon propose a space for purifying emotions through collaboration, and artist Kim Seong-su poses questions about time and existence with the virtual character 'ICUPU (I CUP U)'. Artist Lee Jeong-eun reinterprets everyday landscapes through the perspective of a walker, and artist Im Eun-ji reflects on the meaning of life through her ego as an “explorer of happiness.”

This exhibition is open 24 hours a day at the outdoor park of the Aul Art Center, and provides an artistic everyday experience where anyone can accidentally encounter the artwork while walking.

In addition, a citizen participation program has been prepared. <This and That> with artist Lee Jeong-eun will be held from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM on June 21 and 22, and advance applications (first-come, first-served) are available on the foundation’s website.

CEO Park Jeong-sook said, “This exhibition was planned so that anyone can naturally enjoy art in their daily lives, breaking away from the perception that art is difficult and distant,” and added, “I hope that you will experience the joy of art and senses together through direct participation as well as appreciation.”
