성주군축산단체협의회(회장 구교철)가 주관한 이번 행사는 축제 기간인 18일과 19일 이틀간 진행되며, 성주군의 우수한 축산물을 홍보하고 지역 축산업의 경쟁력을 알리기 위해 마련됐다.

행사장에서는 다양한 단체들이 참여해 풍성한 시식 행사를 선보인다. 18일에는 한돈협회 성주군지부가 한돈 수육을, 낙농육우협회 성주군지부가 신선한 우유와 요구르트를 제공한다. 

19일에는 한우협회 성주군지부가 직접 만든 한우 불고기 버거를 선보이며, 이틀간 성주군양봉협의회가 천연 꿀 시식 부스를 운영해 방문객들의 입맛을 사로잡을 예정이다.

구교철 성주군축산단체협의회장은 “메뚜기축제의 인기 부스로 자리 잡은 우수축산물 시식행사를 통해 성주 축산의 우수성을 널리 알릴 수 있어 뜻깊다”며 “앞으로도 축산인들과 함께하는 다양한 행사를 통해 축산의 긍정적인 이미지를 확산하고, 지역사회와 함께 성장하는 기반을 만들어가겠다”고 말했다.

이병환 성주군수는 “이번 시식행사는 안전하고 신선한 우리 축산물을 직접 체험하고 맛볼 수 있는 기회”라며 “지역 축산물의 소비 촉진과 성주군 축산물의 브랜드 가치 향상에 큰 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다”고 밝혔다.
