정의당 대구시당 관계자는 “장애인 평생교육 참여율이 2.3%에 불과한 현실에서 예산 삭감은 법 제정의 취지를 정면으로 부정하는 것”이라며 예산 삭감 철회를 대구시에 촉구했다.
이번 예산 삭감 통보가 법 제정과 방향을 거스르는 조치인 만큼, 장애인 평생교육계와 시민사회로부터 거센 반발이 예상된다.
