한수원은 AI 기반 혁신기업의 창업부터 성장·해외 진출까지 전주기 지원체계를 구축하기 위해 ‘KHNP AI(아이) 누리’ 육성 프로그램을 추진한다고 1일 밝혔다.

‘KHNP AI 누리’는 스타트업이 기술과 아이디어를 실증하고 사업화할 수 있도록 조성되는 전용 혁신 공간으로, 내년 3월 서울 중구 한수원 방사선보건원 내에 마련될 예정이다. 현재 입주 기업 모집이 진행 중이며, 한수원은 연말까지 최대 10개 기업을 선발할 계획이다.

입주기업에는 ▲무상 사무공간 및 회의실·라운지 제공 ▲기업별 맞춤형 전문가 컨설팅 ▲한수원 공모사업 지원 시 가점 부여 등 다양한 혜택이 제공된다. 이를 통해 초기 단계 스타트업의 고질적인 투자·실증·네트워크 부족 문제 해결을 지원한다는 전략이다.

전대욱 한수원 사장 직무대행은 “AI 누리 운영을 통해 에너지 분야 AI 스타트업 생태계를 조성하고, 한수원과 혁신기업이 함께 성장하는 구조를 만들겠다”며 “궁극적으로는 미래 에너지 기술 실증과 사업화를 촉진하는 기반이 될 것”이라고 말했다.

Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP) is becoming the first public corporation to launch a program to discover and nurture artificial intelligence (AI) startups.

KHNP announced on the 1st that it is launching the “KHNP AI Nuri” program to establish a full-cycle support system for AI-based innovative companies, from inception to growth and overseas expansion.

“KHNP AI Nuri” is a dedicated innovation space designed to enable startups to demonstrate and commercialize their technologies and ideas. It is scheduled to open in March of next year within the KHNP Radiation Health Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. Recruitment is currently underway, and KHNP plans to select up to 10 companies by the end of the year.

Tenant companies will receive various benefits, including free office space, conference rooms, and a lounge; customized expert consulting; and additional points when applying for KHNP projects. This program aims to address the chronic lack of investment, validation, and networking challenges faced by early-stage startups.
