【브레이크뉴스 영덕】박영재 기자=영덕군은 일자리 사업의 중요성을 알리고 우수사례를 공유하기 위해 지난 23일 열린 ‘2025년 경상북도 일자리 창출 추진 실적 평가’에서 우수상을 수상했다.

경상북도는 매년 도내 22개 시·군을 대상으로 일자리 고용 지표와 목표 달성도, 지역 여건에 부합하는 양질의 일자리 창출 성과, 기관의 정책 추진 노력도 등 4개 분야 12개 항목을 종합 평가해 우수 지자체를 선정하고 있다.

영덕군은 ‘좋은 일자리로 살고 머무르는 영덕’을 비전으로 설정하고, 지역 기업 지원을 통한 일자리 창출과 농림어업 및 문화·관광 산업 활성화에 따른 연계 일자리 확대, 청년 및 고령 인구 맞춤형 일자리 창출 등에서 우수한 성과를 거둔 점을 높이 평가받았다.

이 같은 성과로 영덕군은 2022년부터 올해까지 일자리 추진 실적 평가에서 4년 연속 수상이라는 괄목할 만한 성적을 이어가고 있다.

아울러 영덕군은 지난 9월 고용노동부가 주최한 ‘2025년 전국 지방자치단체 일자리 대상’에서도 공시제 부문 최우수상을 수상해, 이번 경상북도 평가 수상과 함께 겹경사를 맞았다.

황정기 영덕군 일자리경제과장은 “일자리 사업의 성과는 단순한 행정 실적을 넘어 군민의 삶의 질을 높이고 살기 좋은 지역사회를 만들어가는 핵심 동력”이라며, “앞으로도 더 좋은 일자리를 더 많이 창출해 누구나 원하면 일할 수 있는 영덕을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Yeongdeok County Receives Excellence Award in 2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Job Creation Performance Evaluation

Yeongdeok County received an Excellence Award in the "2025 Gyeongsangbuk-do Job Creation Performance Evaluation," held on the 23rd to highlight the importance of job creation projects and share best practices.

Gyeongsangbuk-do annually selects outstanding local governments by comprehensively evaluating 22 cities and counties in the province based on 12 criteria across four categories: job and employment indicators and target achievement, quality job creation performance tailored to local conditions, and institutional policy implementation efforts.

Yeongdeok County, with its vision of "Yeongdeok, a place to live and stay with good jobs," was highly recognized for its outstanding performance in job creation through support for local businesses, expansion of linked jobs through the revitalization of the agriculture, forestry, and fisheries, and cultural and tourism industries, and creation of jobs tailored to the youth and senior population.

With these achievements, Yeongdeok County has maintained its remarkable track record of winning awards in the job creation performance evaluation for four consecutive years, from 2022 to this year.

Furthermore, Yeongdeok County also won the grand prize in the public recruitment category at the "2025 National Local Government Job Awards" hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor last September, marking a double milestone for the county, along with its recent Gyeongsangbuk-do evaluation.

Hwang Jeong-gi, head of the Yeongdeok County Employment and Economic Affairs Division, stated, "The success of our job creation projects goes beyond mere administrative performance. They are a key driving force in improving the quality of life for our residents and creating a livable community." He added, "We will continue to create more quality jobs and dedicate ourselves to making Yeongdeok a place where anyone can find work if they want."
