이날 회의에는 영덕군 환경위생과와 해양수산과, 강구면 관계자를 비롯해 한국외식업중앙회 영덕군지부장, 동광어시장 상가 회장, 어시장 상가 회장, 강구1·4리 번영회장, 강구수협 관계자 등 민·관 주요 인사 10여 명이 참석했다.

참석자들은 강구항 대게거리의 지속 가능한 발전을 위해 긴밀한 민·관 협력체계를 구축하고, 관광객 만족도를 높이기 위한 서비스 품질 개선 방안에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행했다.

특히 최근 관광지 물가 상승에 따른 우려를 공유하며 △호객 행위 근절 △바가지요금 척결 △친절 응대 강화 등 명품 관광명소로서의 신뢰 회복과 이미지 제고를 위한 실천 과제를 도출했다.

이 자리에서 지역 상인 대표자들은 위생 관리 강화와 자율적인 서비스 교육 확대 등 관광객 신뢰를 높이기 위한 강도 높은 자구책을 제시하고, 일부 상인의 부당 행위가 지역 전체 이미지에 악영향을 미치지 않도록 자정 노력을 강화하겠다는 의지를 밝혔다.

영덕군 관계자는 “호객 행위와 바가지요금은 지역 관광과 경제를 스스로 훼손하는 행위”라며 “상인회의 자발적인 개선 노력에 발맞춰 상시 모니터링과 현장 단속을 강화해 관광객들이 다시 찾는 강구항 대게거리를 만들어 가겠다”고 말했다.
