시는 7일 시청 대회의실에서 장상길 포항시장 권한대행 주재로 4월 확대간부회의를 열고, 중동 사태 장기화에 따른 지역경제 영향과 대응 방안을 중점 점검했다.

이날 회의에서는 에너지 가격 상승과 글로벌 공급망 교란 등 대외 리스크 확대에 대응하기 위한 부서별 전략을 공유하고, 지역 산업과 민생경제에 미칠 영향을 최소화하기 위한 종합 대응 방향을 논의했다.

포항시는 우선 ‘에너지 위기대응 비상대책 상황반’ 운영을 중동 사태 종료 시까지 연장하고, 유관기관 및 지역 주력산업 기업들과의 간담회를 통해 현장 의견을 수렴할 계획이다. 특히 공급망 차질과 원자재 가격 상승이 철강산업에 미치는 영향을 면밀히 분석하고, 업계 부담 완화를 위한 맞춤형 지원책 마련에 나선다.

아울러 소비자물가 대응반을 본격 가동해 물가 상승에 따른 민생 불안을 선제적으로 차단하고, 위축된 지역경제 회복에 행정력을 집중할 방침이다. 자원안보 위기경보 ‘경계’ 단계 격상에 따라 8일부터 시행되는 공공기관 승용차 2부제 역시 차질 없이 운영될 수 있도록 준비를 강화한다.

에너지 절약 조치도 대폭 강화된다. 공공기관 임직원 차량에는 승용차 2부제(홀짝제)가 적용되며, 공공기관 방문 민원 차량과 시가 운영하는 유료 공영주차장 5개소(상도·대도·죽도·대이동3공원·이동4공원)에는 5부제가 시행된다. 2부제는 차량 번호판 끝자리를 기준으로 홀수 차량은 홀수일, 짝수 차량은 짝수일에 운행하는 방식으로, 주말과 공휴일, 31일은 제외된다.

이번 조치는 공공부문 차량 운행을 절반 수준으로 줄여 에너지 소비를 최소화하고, 민간 부문의 자발적 참여를 유도하기 위한 선제적 대응으로 풀이된다.

한편 포항시는 지난 6일 유관기관과 함께 에너지 절약 캠페인을 실시했으며, 향후 위기 단계 변화에 따라 단계별 에너지 절감 대책을 지속적으로 점검·추진할 방침이다.
