코로나19 예방접종 시행 추진단(단장 채홍호 대구시 행정부시장)은 24일부터 코로나19 치료기관 의료진에 대한 화이자 백신 2차 접종에 들어간다고 밝혔다.
대구시는 지난 3일부터 시작된 1차 접종으로 지금까지 우선 접종 대상자 4만1천73명 중 80%인 3만2천882명이 백신 접종을 마쳤으며 24일부터는 화이자 백신을 1차로 맞은 코로나19 의료진 2천 845명이 2차 접종에 들어갈 예정이다.
화이자 백신 1차 첫 접종자인 남성일 대구동산병원 부원장과 정인자 간호부장은 “2차 접종을 마치고 코로나19 바이러스에 대한 면역이 형성되면, 안심하고 코로나19 환자 치료에 전념할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다”고 밝혔다.
권영진 대구시장은 “2차 접종 후 2주가 지나면 코로나19 바이러스를 막을 수 있는 항체가 형성되고, 집단면역이 형성된다. 또한 지역의 접종률은 우리의 일상을 앞당기고 경제가 회복될 수 있다는 희망을 의미한다”고 전하며, “65세 이상 어르신들의 접종이 본격적으로 시작되는 만큼 안전하게 접종할 수 있도록 빈틈없이 준비하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 대구시 일반 시민들은 백신 공급상황에 따라 지역별 예방접종센터(9개소), 위탁의료기관(800여 개소)에서 하반기 7월부터 접종을 받게된다.
