대구시는 오는 4월 1일부터 75세 이상 어르신을 대상으로 화이자 백신을 접종한다.

30일 대구시는 코로나19 고위험군인 고령층 보호를 위해 4월 1일부터 지역별 예방접종센터에서 75세 이상 어르신을 대상으로 화이자 백신 접종에 나선다고 밝혔다.

접종대상은 노인시설 입소자를 포함한 75세 이상(1946년 12월 31일 이전 출생) 지역 내 어르신 16만 4천명으로, 이번 백신 접종을 시작으로 사실상 전 국민 대상 백신접종이 시작된다.

대구시는 75세 이상 어르신들 중 온라인 예약이 힘들고, 거동이 불편한 분들이 많은 점을 고려, 접종 동의부터 접종 후 모니터링까지 책임지는 지원체계를 구축했다.

이에 따라 대구시는 예방접종센터를 각 구․군별 1개소씩 4월 중에 개소하고(중구, 3월 설치 후 운영 중), 인구 50만 명 이상인 달서구에는 6월 중 추가로 1개소를 설치해 총 9개소의 센터를 운영하며 도보나 자가용 이용, 가족·친지 등과의 동행이 어려운 어르신들을 위해 이동편의 지원방안을 마련해 어르신들의 안전한 내원과 귀가를 돕는다.

뿐만 아니라 접종 후 이상반응에 대비해 접종을 마친 독거 어르신을 대상으로 각 읍면동에서 1일 1회 이상 유․무선 모니터링을 3일간 실시할 계획이다.

채홍호 대구시 행정부시장은 “코로나19 백신 접종은 집단면역 형성과 일상회복의 지름길”이라며, “대구 지역의 우수한 의료진들이 철저하게 접종준비를 한 만큼 자신뿐 아니라, 가족과 이웃을 위해 빠짐없이 예방접종을 받아 일상회복을 앞당기는 데 동참해 주시기 바란다”고 말했다.
