보건복지부에서 전국지방자치단체를 대상으로 매년 실시하는 이번 평가는 기초생활보장 사업평가 실적이 우수한 지자체를 선정해 포상하는 등 지속적인 제도 활성화를 유도하기 위해 실시하고 있다.
주요평가 항목은 신규 수급자 발굴 및 기초생활보장 사각지대 해소 노력, 지방생활보장위원회 운영 실적, 긴급복지 신속지원 처리 등이다.
중구는 부양의무자 기준 완화 등 변화하는 기초생활보장제도에 맞춰 이를 적극 홍보하고 기초생활보장의 내실화와 부정수급 등 급여 관리에 적극 노력해왔다.
특히, 지방생활보장위원회를 통한 부양의무자가 있어 의료급여 수급자로 선정이 어려운 만성질환을 앓고 있는 실질적인 가족관계 해체에 따른 세대를 기초생활 우선 보장 가구로 선정 하는 등 기초생활보장 사각지대 해소 등 전 분야에 걸쳐 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 알려진다.
류규하 중구청장은 “앞으로도 복지사각지대에 놓인 생활이 어려운 구민들을 적극 발굴해 지원하는 등 기초생활보장제도 내실화를 위해 노력하겠다”며 “동별 지역사회보장협의체운영 등 촘촘한 사회안전망 구축을 통해 ‘새롭게 도약하는 행복도시 중구’ 조성에 최선을 다 하겠다”고 밝혔다.
