【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=대구시는 지난 13일 ‘제48회 자랑스러운 시민상’ 공적심사위원회를 개최해 대상 1명, 본상 3명, 특별상 1명 등 수상자 5명을 선정했다고 16일 밝혔다.

대구시에 따르면 올해 대상에는 박세호(56,남) 대구시 치과의사회 회장이 선정됐다.

박세호 회장은 2015년 전국 최초로 치과의사들의 재능 기부로 취약계층의 치료비를 지원하는 ‘치아회복 희망의 징검다리 사업’을 기획해 치과 진료의 접근성이 낮은 취약계층의 의료 접근성을 높이는데 기여했다.

또한, 장애인, 소년소녀가장, 외국인 근로자, 다문화가정 등 무료 치과 진료와 봉사활동을 통해 다양한 계층의 건강권 보호에 헌신했고, 치과 학술대회 및 의료산업전시회를 개최해 지역의 치과의료기술과 산업 역량을 강화했으며, 국립치의학연구원 설립 제안과 대구 유치에 앞장서는 등 지역사회 발전에 기여한 공이 인정됐다.

부문별 본상에 지역사회개발 부문 김원빈(31,남) 경대북문문지기상인회 회장, 사회봉사 부문 달서구 신당동 김종완씨(77,남), 선행·효행 부문 남구 봉덕동 조정태(59,남)씨가 수상자로 선정됐다.

김원빈 상인회 회장은 골목상권 소상공인 공동체를 조직화하고, 골목상권 소상공인 지원을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 기획해 2024년 경북대 북문 지역의 골목형 상점가 지정에 성과를 거두는 등 골목상권 회복에 앞장서 왔다.

또한, 대학생 홍보단(서포터즈)을 운영해 상인들의 홍보를 지원하고 신생기업(스타트업기업)과 연계한 온라인 체제기반(디지털 플랫폼) 활동을 추진해 상점별 매출 증대에 기여했다.

더불어 경북대인문카운슬링센터와 협업하여 지역 저소득층 어르신들의 자서전 편찬 사업을 기획·추진하는 등 창의적인 아이디어로 지역사회 상생 발전에 기여했다.

김종완씨는 2008년부터 16년간 이발 봉사를 이어오며 거동이 불편한 어르신들과 어려운 이웃들에게 실질적인 도움을 주었으며, 특히 고령과 개인적인 어려움에도 불구하고 꾸준히 봉사활동을 했다는 점에서 높은 평가를 받았다.

조정태씨는 중화요리점을 운영하며 17년 동안 매월 셋째 목요일에 어르신과 장애인 400여명에게 자장면 나눔 봉사로 따뜻한 식사를 대접하며 이웃사랑을 몸소 실천해 왔다.

또한, ‘SNS봉사단’을 결성해 7년여 동안 어려운 이웃에게 난방유와 의료비를 지원하고, 도움이 필요한 노인과 장애인 가구에게 매달 전등 및 수도꼭지 교체 등 실생활에 필요한 도움을 제공하여 동네 든든한 해결사 역할을 하는 등 지속적인 나눔과 헌신으로 이웃사랑과 경로효친의 가치를 몸소 실천하며 주변의 귀감이 되었다.

특별상 수상자에는 수성구 범어동 송준기(63,남)씨가 선정됐다. 송준기씨는 대한적십자사 대구광역시지사 회장 등 다양한 직책을 수행하며 재난현장의 신속한 구호활동과 재난피해자 대상 재난심리상담을 실시하는 등 지역사회 안정과 복지 증진에 앞장서 왔다.

서문시장 화재, 태풍, 코로나19 등 재난재해 상황에서 구호활동을 주도했고, 모금프로그램 행사 개최, 무료급식소 운영, 청소년 장학금 지원 등을 통해 소외계층의 삶의 질 향상에 기여했다.

또한, 지역사회 봉사활동과 국제 보건 봉사에 헌신하며 나눔 문화 확산에 중요한 역할을 해왔다.

한편, 자랑스러운 시민상은 1977년부터 지난해까지 47회에 걸쳐 모두 168명이 수상했으며, 제48회 자랑스러운 시민상 수상자에 대한 시상은 2025년 2월 대구시민의 날 행사 시 거행될 예정이다. 대구시에서는 수상자에 대해 주요 행사에 초청하는 등 예우를 하고 있으며 수상 공적은 대구시 영구 기록물로 보존된다.
