대구광역시는 3월 19일 김정기 시장 권한대행 주재로 실·국·본부장과 구·군, 대구경찰청 관계자 등 26명이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026 대구마라톤 평가보고회’를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 보고회에서는 대회 운영 전반에 대한 평가와 함께 운영·교통·안전·시민참여 등 4개 분야 성과를 공유하고, 향후 개선 방향을 논의했다.

대회 성과로는 여자부 대회 신기록(2시간 19분 35초) 경신과 남자부 최초 2연패 달성, 안정적인 대회 운영이 꼽혔다. 대구시는 이를 바탕으로 세계육상연맹(WA) 인증 최고 등급인 ‘플래티넘 라벨’ 승격을 올해 하반기 신청할 계획이다.

시는 엘리트 선수 의견을 반영한 코스 재설계와 출발시간 조정 등 운영 개선을 추진하고, 우수 선수 유치와 기록 경쟁력 강화에 집중할 방침이다.

시민참여와 홍보 측면에서도 성과가 확인됐다. 참가자와 시민이 제작한 관련 영상이 270여 건, 조회수 100만 회를 기록했으며, 자발적 거리 응원과 35km 지점 ‘DJ카’ 운영은 선수 경기력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 분석됐다.

대구시는 이번 평가 결과를 차기 대회 기본계획에 반영해 대회 완성도를 한층 높일 방침이다.
