대구시는 기후환경에너지부 주관 공모사업에 선정된 전국 13개 시·도 가운데 최대 규모인 50억 원의 사업비를 확보했으며, 이를 통해 미세먼지 저감과 지역 대기환경 개선에 나선다.

이번 사업은 중소사업장의 대기오염 방지시설 설치 부담을 줄이고 체계적인 환경관리를 지원하는 데 초점을 맞췄다. 지원 대상은 성서산업단지(5차 제외), 달성1차산업단지, 달성군 소재 아스콘 업종 중소기업 가운데 대기 4~5종 배출사업장이다.

선정된 사업장에는 방지시설별 기준에 따라 설치비의 최대 90%가 지원되며, 사전 기술진단부터 설치, 사후 유지관리까지 전 과정이 포함된다. 다만 공공기관 및 공공시설, 최근 5년 이내 설치되었거나 정부 지원을 받은 시설은 제외되며, 지원받은 사업장은 3년 이상 해당 시설을 운영해야 한다.

대구시는 지난 2019년부터 2025년까지 총 874억 원을 투입해 365개 사업장의 방지시설 교체를 지원해 왔으며, 그 결과 대기오염물질이 평균 85% 이상 감소하는 성과를 거뒀다.

사업 참여를 희망하는 사업장은 오는 5월 12일까지 신청서와 구비서류를 갖춰 관할 구·군청(달서구청 기후환경과, 달성군 환경과)에 방문 신청하면 된다. 자세한 사항은 4월 13일부터 대구시청 홈페이지를 통해 확인할 수 있다.

이와 함께 대구시는 소규모 사업장의 법적 의무 이행을 지원하기 위해 ‘사물인터넷(IoT) 측정기기 지원사업’도 병행 추진한다. 총 13억 원을 투입해 설치비의 60%를 지원하며, 신청은 5월 29일까지 가능하다.

이는 대기환경보전법 개정에 따라 대기 4~5종 사업장의 IoT 측정기기 부착이 의무화된 데 따른 조치로, 해당 사업장은 2026년 12월 31일까지 설치를 완료해야 한다. 기한 내 미설치 시 5년 이하 징역 또는 5천만 원 이하 벌금이 부과된다.

김정섭 대구광역시 환경수자원국장은 “노후 방지시설 교체를 통해 인근 주민에게 쾌적한 대기환경을 제공하고, 중소사업장의 경제적 부담 완화에도 도움이 될 것”이라며 “지역 대기질 개선을 위해 많은 사업장의 적극적인 참여를 바란다”고 말했다.

Eligible recipients are SMEs in the asphalt concrete industry located in the Seongseo Industrial Complex (excluding the 5th Industrial Complex), Dalseong 1st Industrial Complex, and Dalseong-gun that emit Class 4 or 5 air pollutants.

Selected businesses will receive support covering up to 90% of installation costs based on standards for each type of pollution control facility, covering the entire process from preliminary technical diagnosis to installation and post-installation maintenance. However, public institutions and public facilities, as well as facilities installed within the last five years or those that have received government support, are excluded. Furthermore, supported workplaces must operate the relevant facilities for at least three years.

From 2019 to 2025, Daegu City has invested a total of 87.4 billion won to support the replacement of pollution control facilities at 365 workplaces, resulting in an average reduction of over 85% in air pollutants.

Workplaces wishing to participate in the project should submit an application form and required documents in person to their respective district or county offices (Climate and Environment Division at Dalseo-gu Office or Environment Division at Dalseong-gun Office) by May 12. In parallel, Daegu City is also implementing the "Internet of Things (IoT) Measurement Device Support Project" to assist small-scale workplaces in fulfilling their legal obligations. A total of 1.3 billion won will be invested to cover 60% of installation costs, and applications are accepted until May 29. This measure follows the amendment of the Air Environment Conservation Act, which mandates the installation of IoT measuring devices at Class 4 and 5 air pollution workplaces; the relevant facilities must complete the installation by December 31, 2026. Failure to install within the deadline will result in imprisonment of up to five years or a fine of up to 50 million won.
