취약지 소아 야간·휴일 진료기관은 달빛어린이병원이 지정되지 않은 구·군을 중심으로 운영되는 제도다. 운영 시간과 인력 기준은 달빛어린이병원보다 완화되며, 소아 야간·휴일 외래진료 기반을 확대하고 향후 달빛어린이병원으로의 전환을 유도하는 역할을 맡는다.

그동안 수성구에는 달빛어린이병원이 없어 야간이나 휴일에 아이가 아플 경우 시민들이 응급실을 이용해야 하는 불편이 컸다. 이번 지정으로 경증 소아환자가 응급실 대신 외래진료를 받을 수 있는 기반이 마련돼 소아 진료 공백 해소와 응급실 과밀화 완화에도 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.

‘21세기연합소아과의원’은 소아청소년과 전문의 2명이 근무하는 의료기관으로, 평일(월~금) 오전 9시부터 오후 8시까지, 토요일 오전 9시부터 오후 5시까지, 일요일 오전 9시부터 오후 3시까지 진료를 제공한다.

수성구에 위치해 중구·동구·북구 등 인접 지역 주민들도 이용할 수 있어 지역 간 소아 진료 접근성도 크게 향상될 전망이다.
