포항시는 오는 18일 오후 2시, 포은흥해도서관과 흥해아이누리플라자의 개관식을 열고 본격 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔다.

개관식은 지신밟기 식전 행사로 시작해 축하공연과 악기 만들기 체험 등 다양한 프로그램이 진행될 예정이다.

포은흥해도서관과 흥해아이누리플라자는 2017년 촉발 지진으로 전파되어 철거된 구 대성아파트 부지에 건립된 문화·복지시설로, 2021년 12월 착공하여 지난해 연말 준공되었으며, 올해 1월부터 시범운영을 해왔다.

포은흥해도서관은 연면적 11,424㎡로 지하 1층, 지상 4층 규모로 건립됐다. 어린이 및 유아자료실, 일반자료실, 문학자료실, 정기간행물실, 이야기방, 수유실, 프로그램실 등 다양한 공간을 갖추고 있다. 

특히, 포은흥해도서관은 영남권 최초의 음악 특성화 도서관으로, 4,000여 점의 음반 자료와 장비를 갖춘 음악자료실, 작곡실, 연주실, 음악감상실 등을 통해 주민들의 회복과 치유를 돕는 역할을 할 것으로 기대된다. 

또한, 최신 AI 도서관 장비인 맞춤형 검색 시스템 로봇 ‘로미’와 책 읽어주는 로봇 ‘루카’도 제공된다.

흥해아이누리플라자는 연면적 2,408㎡의 지상 2층 규모로 건립되었으며, 시민들의 육아 지원을 위한 거점 공간으로서 아이누리 장난감 도서관, 공공형 키즈카페인 흥해아이누리키즈카페, 24시간 365 보육실 등을 갖추고 있다.

 특히, 기존 공간보다 2배 이상 확장된 시립흥해어린이집을 포함해 영유아기 아이들의 보육과 신체활동에 큰 도움을 줄 수 있는 공간이 마련됐다. 또한, 긴박한 상황에서 돌봄 서비스가 필요한 부모들에게도 중요한 지원을 할 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

이강덕 포항시장은 “지진 피해로 철거된 아파트 부지에 시민들을 위한 도서관과 육아 지원시설인 아이누리플라자가 건립된 것은 매우 큰 의미가 있다”며, “흥해특별재생사업의 상징적 앵커시설로서, 앞으로 시민들이 생활 가까이에서 혜택을 누릴 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.

In particular, a space that can greatly help with childcare and physical activities of infants and toddlers, including the Sirip Heunghae Daycare Center, which has been expanded to more than twice the size of the existing space, has been created. It is also expected to provide important support to parents who need care services in urgent situations.

Pohang Mayor Lee Kang-deok said, “It is very meaningful that Ainuri Plaza, a library and childcare support facility for citizens, has been built on the site of an apartment that was demolished due to earthquake damage,” and added, “As a symbolic anchor facility of the Heunghae Special Regeneration Project, we will ensure that citizens can enjoy the benefits close to their lives in the future.”
