포항해경에 따르면, 지난해 단속 실적은 민생침해 범죄 42건(절도 26건, 선불금 사기 14건, 면세유 부정사용 2건), 인권침해 범죄 8건(폭행 3건, 강제추행 2건, 외국인선원 보험 미가입 3건)으로 나타났다.

이근안 포항해양경찰서장은 “국민의 생계를 위협하고 사회 안전을 저해하는 범죄에 대해서는 엄정 대응하겠다”며 “다만 생계형 경미범죄에 대해서는 사정에 따라 계도와 훈방 조치도 병행할 예정”이라고 밝혔다. 그는 이어 “인권침해 범죄는 결코 용납될 수 없는 중대한 범죄인 만큼, 피해를 입거나 목격한 경우 적극적인 신고를 당부드린다”고 말했다.
