【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=항해양경찰서(서장 이근안)가 설 연휴 기간 해양사고 예방을 위해 1월 30일부터 2월 18일까지 ‘해양 안전관리 종합대책 기간’을 운영하고 있다.

이에 이근안 서장은 지난 10일 구룡포를 비롯한 포항 남부권 주요 연안해역을 직접 방문해 사전 안전 점검을 실시했다. 설 당일인 2월 17일에는 포항파출소와 해경구조대 등 현장을 재점검해 다중이용선박 안전계도와 연안사고 취약 개소에 대한 관리 강화를 추진할 계획이다.
또한 설 연휴가 시작되는 2월 14일부터 18일까지 5일간 비상근무에 돌입해 해상 경계태세를 강화하고 긴급 상황 대응체계를 유지한다.
주요 대책으로는 ▲여객선·낚시어선 등 다중이용선박 및 연안해역 예방활동 강화 ▲설 명절 전·후 민생 침해 범죄 특별단속 및 외사 활동 강화 ▲해양오염사고 대비·대응 및 예방활동 등 기능별 종합 안전관리 방안이 포함됐다.
이근안 서장은 “국민들이 안전하고 편안한 설 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 해양 안전사고 예방과 신속 대응에 최선을 다하겠다”며 “해양을 이용하는 국민들 역시 안전수칙을 철저히 준수해 달라”고 당부했다.
