【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구사이버대학교(총장 이근용)는 지난 16일 대구대학교 성산홀 강당에서 2024학년도 후기 학위수여식을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에는 이근용 총장을 비롯해 전종국 부총장, 윤은경 대학원장, 대구대학교 이정호 부총장 등 내빈과 교수진이 참석했으며, 전국 각지에서 모인 졸업생과 가족, 친지들이 함께 축하의 시간을 나눴다. 무더운 날씨에도 대학 측은 DCU카페를 운영해 참석자들에게 시원한 음료를 제공하며 포토존을 통해 기념촬영의 기회도 마련했다.

학위수여식은 ▲축하공연 ▲내빈 소개 ▲주요 보직자 소개 ▲학사보고 ▲학위증서 및 상장 수여 ▲총장 격려사 ▲내빈 축사 ▲재학생 송사 ▲졸업생 답사 순으로 진행됐다.

이번 학위수여식에서는 학사 학위를 취득한 424명을 비롯해 대학원 미술상담학과 석사 35명 등 총 459명이 학위를 받았다.

이근용 총장은 격려사에서 “졸업생 모두가 자랑스럽다”며 “사랑·빛·자유의 건학이념을 바탕으로 사회 각 분야에서 역량을 발휘하기 바란다”고 당부했다. 대구대학교 이정호 부총장은 “양교 협력을 통해 새로운 교육의 패러다임을 제시하는 데 앞장서겠다”고 말했다.

제24대 총학생회 박상욱 회장은 송사에서 “오늘은 지난 시간의 노력과 열정이 결실을 맺는 뜻깊은 날”이라며 교수진과 학우들에게 감사의 뜻을 전했다. 졸업생 대표 김은주 학우는 답사에서 “오늘의 졸업은 끝이 아닌 새로운 시작”이라며 “배움의 열정을 잊지 않고 사회 속에서 책임 있는 인재로 성장하겠다”고 말했다.

이번 학위수여식은 현장 참석이 어려운 학생들을 위해 유튜브 공식 채널 ‘대구사이버대학교TV’를 통해 실시간 생중계됐다.

Daegu Cyber University Holds Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony… 459 Degrees Awarded

Daegu Cyber University (President Lee Keun-yong) announced that it held its Fall 2024 Commencement Ceremony on the 16th at the Seongsan Hall auditorium at Daegu University.

President Lee Keun-yong, Vice President Jeon Jong-guk, Dean Yoon Eun-kyung, and Vice President Lee Jeong-ho of Daegu University attended the event, along with distinguished guests and faculty. At this commencement ceremony, a total of 459 students received their degrees, including 424 bachelor's degrees and 35 master's degrees from the Department of Art Counseling.

President Lee Geun-yong said in his congratulatory remarks, "I am proud of all the graduates," and urged them to "exemplify their capabilities in various fields of society based on the founding principles of love, light, and freedom." In his congratulatory remarks, 24th Student Council President Park Sang-wook expressed his gratitude to the faculty and fellow students, saying, "Today is a meaningful day where past efforts and passion bear fruit." Kim Eun-ju, representing the graduating class, said in her acceptance speech, "Today's graduation is not the end, but a new beginning. I will not forget my passion for learning and will grow into responsible individuals in society."

Meanwhile, Daegu Cyber University is accepting applications for its second round of new and transfer students for the second semester of the 2025 academic year until August 19th. The departments accepting applications include Play Therapy, Art Therapy, Speech-Language Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, Counseling Psychology, Psychokinesis, Clinical Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Social Welfare, Social Welfare Counseling, Special Education, Korean Language and Multicultural Studies, Public Administration, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and K-Food Business, for a total of 15 departments.
