【브레이크뉴스 경산】이성현 기자=대구사이버대학교(총장 이근용)는 지난 1월 18일부터 22일까지 3박 5일간 베트남 나트랑에 위치한 록터보육원에서 학생과 교직원 등 21명이 참여한 해외 동계 자원봉사활동을 성공적으로 마무리했다고 밝혔다.

이번 봉사활동에는 전국 각지에서 재학 중인 학생들이 참여했으며, 봉사에 앞서 지난해 11월부터 총 3회에 걸친 사전교육을 통해 학생들이 직접 봉사 프로그램을 기획·개발했다. 또한 자발적인 온·오프라인 모임을 통해 프로그램의 완성도를 높이고, 현지 아동의 눈높이에 맞춘 체계적인 봉사활동을 준비했다.

봉사단은 현지 아동을 대상으로 미술·음악·체육·한국어 교육을 비롯해 K-POP 댄스와 한국 음식 나눔 등 다양한 체험형 프로그램을 운영했다. 특히 부채 그림 그리기, 한국 동요를 베트남어로 번역해 함께 부르기, 에코백과 열기구 꾸미기, 투호와 줄넘기 등 전통 놀이와 체육활동을 통해 아이들이 한국 문화를 자연스럽게 체험할 수 있도록 구성해 큰 호응을 얻었다.

이와 함께 쌀 600kg과 학생들의 자발적인 모금으로 마련한 성금, 의류·신발·학용품 등 다양한 후원 물품을 전달하며 나눔의 가치를 실천했다. 봉사활동에 사용된 교육 교구는 현지에 기증돼 향후 교육과 문화 교류 활동에 지속적으로 활용될 예정이다.

록터보육원 원장은 “멀리 한국에서 아이들을 위해 정성껏 준비한 교육 프로그램과 물품, 음식을 전해줘 진심으로 감사드린다”며 “아이들에게 새로운 경험과 따뜻한 기억을 남겨준 뜻깊은 시간이 됐다”고 전했다. 봉사에 참여한 학생들도 “모든 단원이 한마음으로 준비한 프로그램을 통해 현지 아이들과 교감하며 배움과 성장의 의미를 느낄 수 있었다”고 소감을 밝혔다.

한편 이번 해외 봉사활동은 ‘나눔으로 사랑을 잇다’를 주제로 진행됐으며, 대구사이버대학교는 앞으로도 대학 이념인 ‘사랑·빛·자유’를 바탕으로 글로벌 역량 강화와 사회공헌 활동을 지속적으로 확대해 나갈 계획이다.

Daegu Cyber ​​University (President Lee Geun-yong) announced the successful completion of its overseas winter volunteer program at the Locteur Orphanage in Nha Trang, Vietnam, from January 18th to 22nd. Twenty-one students and faculty participated.

Students from across the country participated in this program. Prior to the program, the students planned and developed their own volunteer program through three rounds of pre-training, beginning in November of last year. They also held voluntary online and offline meetings to enhance the program's quality and prepare a systematic volunteer program tailored to the needs of local children.

The volunteer group provided a variety of experiential programs for local children, including art, music, physical education, and Korean language classes, as well as K-pop dance and Korean food sharing. The program, designed to allow children to experience Korean culture naturally through traditional games and physical activities, including fan painting, singing Korean children's songs translated into Vietnamese, decorating eco-bags and hot air balloons, and playing tuho and jumping rope, received a great response.

Furthermore, the program demonstrated the value of sharing by delivering 600 kg of rice, funds raised through voluntary student donations, and various sponsored items, including clothing, shoes, and school supplies. The educational materials used in the volunteer work were donated to the local community and will be used for future educational and cultural exchange activities.

The director of Lokter Orphanage said, "We are truly grateful for the educational programs, supplies, and food you so lovingly prepared for the children from so far away in Korea. It was a meaningful time that left the children with new experiences and warm memories." The students who participated in the volunteer work also expressed their gratitude, saying, "Through the program prepared by all of us, we were able to connect with the local children and experience the meaning of learning and growth."

Meanwhile, this overseas volunteer activity was conducted under the theme of ‘Connecting Love through Sharing,’ and Daegu Cyber ​​University plans to continue to strengthen its global capabilities and expand its social contribution activities based on its university philosophy of ‘Love, Light, and Freedom.’
