어메이징 아웃사이더 아트센터는 드라마 ‘우리들의 블루스’ 출연으로 널리 알려진 정은혜 작가를 비롯해 정식 미술 교육을 받지 않은 발달장애 예술가들이 창작과 전시 활동을 이어가는 예술 공간이다. ‘아웃사이더 아트(Outsider Art)’의 가치 아래 창작의 자유와 개성을 존중하며, 입주 작가들은 자신만의 방식으로 작품 세계를 구축하고 예술적 자립을 실현하고 있다.

이번 협약에 따라 양 기관은 ▲장애예술 문화 확산을 위한 공동 홍보 및 신입생 모집 협력 ▲아트센터 임직원 및 가족의 대구사이버대학교 입학 시 산학협약장학금 지원 ▲대구사이버대학교 장애인 사이버 평생학습 플랫폼 홍보 협력 ▲발달장애인의 삶의 질 향상 관련 공동 협력 등 다방면의 교류 사업을 추진할 계획이다.

대구사이버대학교는 더 나아가 아트센터 소속 예술가들의 작품을 활용한 ‘2026 공동 캘린더 제작 프로젝트’와 협약 현장을 담은 공식 영상 제작도 준비 중이며, 실질적인 상생 협업 모델 구축에 나선다.

방문 현장에서는 정은혜 작가가 이근용 총장의 캐리커처를 직접 선물해 분위기를 훈훈하게 만들었다. 이 총장은 “정성 어린 작품 선물을 받아 매우 뜻깊다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.

이근용 총장은 “작업에 대한 자부심을 가진 훌륭한 작가들을 직접 만나 영광이었다”며 “대구사이버대학교는 예술을 통한 자기실현과 역량 개발을 적극 지원하며, 발달장애인의 사회 활동 확대와 권리 중심 일자리 창출에 함께 기여하겠다”고 말했다.
