청구중학교는 지난 19일 남다른 정직함과 책임감으로 학교를 빛낸 3학년 정세명, 염도현, 최석현 학생에게 선행 학생 표창을 수여했다고 밝혔다.

이 학생들은 지난 9월 6일 대구 동구 위치한 한 아파트 인근에서 현금 500만원과 귀중품이 든 가방을 주워 주인에게 찾아주는 모범적인 행동으로 지역사회에 귀감이 됐다.

정세명 학생 외 2명은 현금 가방을 발견한 즉시 인근 파출소 지구대에 인계했다. 가방을 되찾은 주인은 학생들에게 사례와 보상금을 전달하려 했으나, 학생들은 이를 사양했다. 가방 주인이 직접 학교에 연락하여 학생들의 선행이 알려지게 됐다.
