【브레이크뉴스 포항】박영재 기자=포항시는 지난 11일 시청 연오세오실에서 ‘2026년 포항시 종합 물가안정 대책회의’를 열고 민생경제 안정을 위한 대응 방안을 논의했다.

이날 회의는 물가안정 대책 T/F팀 단장인 이상엽 일자리경제국장 주재로 진행됐으며, 분야별 물가 관리 추진 상황을 점검하고 향후 관리 방향을 공유했다.

시는 이번 회의를 계기로 물가안정 대책 T/F를 연중 상시 운영하고, 공공요금과 개인서비스요금 등 주요 분야에 대한 모니터링 체계를 한층 강화할 방침이다. 최근 생활 밀접 품목의 가격 변동성이 이어지며 체감물가 부담이 높아진 만큼, 생활물가 안정을 최우선 과제로 삼고 행정력을 집중한다는 계획이다.

앞서 시는 지난달 죽도시장 일원에서 물가안정 및 바가지요금 근절 캠페인을 실시했으며, 이달 3일에는 물가모니터링단과 함께 가격표시 위반, 바가지요금 등 불공정 행위에 대한 계도·점검 활동을 전개하는 등 현장 중심의 대응을 이어왔다. 또한 착한가격업소 지정을 확대하고, 주요 생필품 가격에 대한 상시 모니터링을 병행하고 있다.

행정안전부가 이달 2일부터 18일까지 ‘설 물가안정 특별대책기간’을 운영하며 바가지요금 신고창구 운영과 24시간 내 현장조사 착수 등 대응을 강화하고 있는 가운데, 포항시도 정부 기조에 맞춰 지역 내 현장 점검과 가격 모니터링을 더욱 촘촘히 추진할 예정이다.

시는 설 성수기를 앞두고 대규모점포 합동점검과 전통시장 집중점검을 실시해 가격표시제 이행 여부, 바가지요금, 원산지 표시, 계량기 준수 사항 등을 점검해 왔으며, 반복 위반 업소에 대해서는 관련 법령에 따라 행정조치를 병행할 계획이다.

이상엽 일자리경제국장은 “물가 안정은 통계 수치보다 시민이 체감하는 변화가 중요하다”며 “가격표시 준수와 공정한 거래질서 확립을 통해 장바구니 부담을 덜 수 있도록 관리에 최선을 다하겠다”고 밝혔다.

포항시는 앞으로도 품목별 책임 관리 방식의 대응체계를 통해 가격 급등 품목을 선제적으로 관리하고, 시민 체감형 물가 안정 정책을 지속 추진할 방침이다.
