【브레이크뉴스 대구】이성현 기자=계명대(총장 신일희)는 경상북도 후원으로 중앙아시아 국가의 교류역사에 대해 재조명하는‘2020 실크로드 인문학 국제학술회의’를 온라인으로 개최한다고 18일 밝혔다.

지난 11월 17일부터 온라인으로 개최된 이번 학술회의는 ‘중앙아시아의 교류와 갈등: 고대부터 현대까지’를 대주제로 마이클 던포드(Michael Dunford) 영국 서섹스대학교 명예교수, 윌리엄 밀리(William Maley) 호주국립대학교 교수, 조지 레인(George Lane)런던대학교 교수 등 13명의 국내외 저명교수와 전문가들이 참석해 주제발표와 토론을 진행한다.

신일희 계명대 총장은 “코로나19로 인해 온라인으로 진행하고 직접만나 교류하지 못하는 것을 안타깝게 생각한다.”며, “중앙아시아 국가들은 내·외적으로 접촉을 통해 발달해 왔고 실크로는 갈등해결의 도구 역할을 했다. 이번 학술회의는 실크로드의 기능과 속성을 심층 탐구하는 계기가 될 것이다.”고 인사말을 전했다.

기조연설은 제임스 쇼프(James C. Schopf) 계명대 정치외교학과 교수이며, 실크로드 중앙아시아연구원 기획부장이 ‘실크로드 지역의 평화 전망: 중-미-러 관계의 고찰’을 주제로 강연했다.

11월 17일 올라온 발표 영상은 11월 24일까지 참석자들이 공유하고 12월 1일 제임스 쇼프(James C. Schopf)계명대 실크로드 중앙아시아연구원 기획부장, 잔느 윌슨(Jeanne Wilson) 미국 휘튼칼리지 교수, 이희수 실크로드 중앙아시아연구원 특임교수 등 3명이 토론을 가지고 영상을 온라인으로 통해 일반인들에게 공개될 예정이다.

온라인으로 진행되는 이번 국제학술회의는 실시간이 아닌 녹화 영상으로 일반인들도 시청이 가능하며 댓글을 통해 질문을 남기면 발표자들이 답을 해 주는 방식으로 진행된다.

계명대의 실크로드 인문학 국제학술회의는 경상북도의 전폭적인 지원과 협력으로 개최되고 있다. 2014년 첫 해에는‘한국과 중앙아시아 교류 협력 증진을 위한 인문학적 과제’를 주제로, 2015년 ‘실크로드와 중앙아시아 민속, 음악과 미술’, 2016년에 ‘실크로드 문명교류’, 2017년 ‘한국-이란 관계: 미래 세계 협력관계를 위한 과거와 현재 조망’, 2018년에는 처음으로 터키 이스탄불대학교에서 ‘터키와 한국의 문명교차’를 주제로 학술회의가 열렸다.

2019년에는 ‘둔황으로 가는 길: 시공간적 메트릭스로서 실크로드’를 주제로 학술회의가 열려 올해로 7회째를 맞이했다.

2014년 실크로드 중앙아시아연구원을 개원한 계명대는 ‘실크로드 인문학 국제학술회의’를 통해 천 년 전 실크로드를 통해 교류하며 찬란한 문명의 시대를 열었던 신라문화를 학술적으로 재조명하고, 실크로드 주요 거점국가와 문화∙경제교류 활성화를 통한 네트워크 구축을 위한 것이다.
