‘실크로드 문명아카데미’는 단순 교양 강연을 넘어 연구 성과와 현장 자료를 바탕으로 한 심화 인문학 프로그램으로, 지역 대표 문화강좌로 자리매김해 왔다.

이번 8기 강좌는 “실크로드의 르네상스들: 여러 지역·여러 문화의 다시 피어남”을 주제로 총 6회에 걸쳐 진행된다. 강의는 오는 3월 31일부터 6월 9일까지 격주 화요일 오후 4시부터 6시까지 계명대 성서캠퍼스 행소박물관 시청각실에서 열린다. 수강료는 무료이며 선착순으로 모집한다.

강좌에는 실크로드 문명사 분야 전문가들이 참여해 다양한 지역과 시대를 아우르는 내용을 다룬다. 주요 프로그램은 ▲우즈베키스탄을 중심으로 한 실크로드 르네상스 ▲몽골 르네상스와 지구화 시대 ▲미륵신앙과 불교미술 ▲인도 아잔타 석굴의 불교미술 ▲신라 승려 혜초를 중심으로 한 한국불교와 실크로드 ▲최신 고고학 성과 등으로 구성됐다.

김중순 실크로드연구원장은 “이번 아카데미는 실크로드를 단순 교역로가 아닌 문명 교류의 장으로 재조명하는 데 초점을 맞췄다”며 “시민들이 보다 깊이 있는 인문학적 통찰을 얻는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 밝혔다.

한편 계명대 실크로드연구원은 경상북도 지원을 바탕으로 실크로드 지역 연구를 지속 추진하고 있으며, 신라문화 재조명과 주요 국가와의 문화·경제 교류 네트워크 구축에도 힘쓰고 있다.

Keimyung University Recruits 8th Cohort of ‘Silk Road Civilization Academy’… “Viewing a Renaissance of Civilizational Exchange”

The Silk Road Research Institute at Keimyung University is recruiting students for the 8th cohort of the ‘Silk Road Civilization Academy,’ which is operated with support from Gyeongsangbuk-do Province.

Beyond simple liberal arts lectures, the ‘Silk Road Civilization Academy’ is an in-depth humanities program based on research findings and field materials, and has established itself as a representative cultural course in the region.

The 8th cohort will be held over a total of six sessions under the theme “Renaissances of the Silk Road: The Reblooming of Various Regions and Cultures.” Lectures will take place every other Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, from March 31 to June 9, at the audiovisual room of the Haengso Museum on the Keimyung University Seongseo Campus. Tuition is free, and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis.

Experts in the field of Silk Road civilization history will participate in the course to cover content encompassing diverse regions and eras. The main programs consist of the Silk Road Renaissance centered on Uzbekistan, the Mongol Renaissance and the Era of Globalization, Maitreya belief and Buddhist art, Buddhist art of the Ajanta Caves in India, Korean Buddhism and the Silk Road centered on the Silla monk Hyecho, and the latest archaeological achievements.

Kim Joong-soon, Director of the Silk Road Research Institute, stated, "This academy focuses on re-examining the Silk Road not merely as a trade route, but as a venue for civilizational exchange," adding, "I hope this serves as an opportunity for citizens to gain deeper humanistic insights."

Meanwhile, the Keimyung University Silk Road Research Institute continues to pursue research on the Silk Road region with support from Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and is also striving to shed new light on Silla culture and build cultural and economic exchange networks with major countries.
