계명대는 8일 성서캠퍼스 동천관 국제세미나실에서 학위 수여식을 열고, 동북아 고등교육 발전과 한·중 학문 교류 확대에 기여한 공로를 기려 한업 총장에게 명예박사 학위를 수여했다고 밝혔다.

한업 총장은 길림대학교에서 고분자 화학 및 물리를 전공해 박사학위를 취득했으며, 장춘공업대학교 인사처장과 길림화공대학교 부총장을 거쳐 2023년 4월부터 장춘대학교 총장으로 재임하고 있다.

특히 그는 양 대학이 공동 설립한 ‘장춘대학 계명학원’의 안정적 정착에 핵심적인 역할을 수행했다. 해당 학원은 2022년 중국 교육부로부터 중외합작판학 기구 승인을 받아 설립된 교육기관으로, 자동차공학과·전기공학과·식품가공학과 등 공동 교육과정을 운영하고 있다.

초기 연간 300명이던 신입생 정원은 올해 450명으로 확대됐으며, 현재 약 1,800명이 재학 중이다. 또한 2026학년도부터는 기존 ‘2+2’ 공동학위 모델에서 ‘4+0’ 방식으로 전환해, 장춘대에서 전 과정을 이수하더라도 양교 학위를 동시에 취득할 수 있도록 교육 체계를 고도화했다.

신일희 총장은 “한업 총장은 융합형 인재 양성을 위해 교육 방향을 지속적으로 고민해 온 교육자”라며 “이번 명예박사 수여는 그간의 업적에 대한 존경이자 양교가 새로운 교육 과제를 함께 풀어가겠다는 약속”이라고 말했다.

한업 총장은 “이번 영예는 개인이 아닌 양교 간 깊은 우정과 공동의 이상에 바치는 것”이라며 “계명학원은 양국 청년들의 다문화 이해와 공생 교육의 모범이 될 것”이라고 밝혔다.

한편 계명대는 이번 수여를 계기로 장춘대학교와의 협력을 한층 강화하고, 글로벌 교육 네트워크 확대를 지속적으로 추진해 나갈 방침이다.

Keimyung University Confers Honorary Doctorate in Education on Changchun University President Han Ye… in Recognition of Contributions to Korea-China Educational Cooperation

Keimyung University has conferred an honorary doctorate in education upon Han Ye, President of Changchun University.

Keimyung University announced that it held a degree conferment ceremony on the 8th at the International Seminar Room in Dongcheon Hall on the Seongseo Campus and awarded the honorary doctorate to President Han Ye in recognition of his contributions to the development of higher education in Northeast Asia and the expansion of academic exchanges between Korea and China.

President Han Ye earned his doctorate in Polymer Chemistry and Physics from Jilin University. He served as the Dean of Human Resources at Changchun University of Technology and as Vice President of Jilin University of Chemical Technology before assuming the position of President of Changchun University in April 2023.

In particular, he played a key role in the stable establishment of the "Changchun University Keimyung Foundation," which was jointly founded by the two universities. The institute is an educational institution established in 2022 after receiving approval from the Chinese Ministry of Education as a Sino-foreign joint educational organization, and it operates joint educational programs in fields such as Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Food Processing.

The annual freshman quota, initially set at 300, has been expanded to 450 this year, with approximately 1,800 students currently enrolled. Furthermore, starting from the 2026 academic year, the educational system has been upgraded by transitioning from the existing "2+2" joint degree model to a "4+0" system, allowing students to obtain degrees from both universities simultaneously even if they complete their entire curriculum at Changchun University.

President Shin Il-hee stated, "President Han Eop is an educator who has continuously contemplated educational directions to foster convergent talent," adding, "The conferment of this honorary doctorate is an expression of respect for his past achievements and a promise that both universities will work together to solve new educational challenges."

President Han Up stated, “This honor is dedicated not to an individual, but to the deep friendship and shared ideals between the two universities,” adding that “Keimyung University will serve as a model for multicultural understanding and coexistence education for the youth of both nations.”

Meanwhile, taking this award as an opportunity, Keimyung University plans to further strengthen cooperation with Changchun University and continuously promote the expansion of its global education network.
