계명대학교(총장 신일희)는 한국대학교육협의회가 주관하는 CAMPUS Asia-AIMS 2주기 사업(2021~2025년)을 성공적으로 수행한 데 이어 3주기 사업에도 연속 선정됐다고 밝혔다. 이에 따라 2030년까지 5년간 사업을 이어가며 아세안 국가와의 학생 교류를 안정적으로 확대할 수 있는 기반을 마련했다.

계명대는 2주기 사업 기간 동안 아세안 4개국 9개 대학과 협력해 총 110명의 학생을 교환했으며, 3주기 사업에서는 파견·초청 교환학생 규모를 180명으로 확대할 계획이다.

이번 3주기 사업의 핵심은 교육 분야 확장이다. 기존 어학·문화, 국제통상, 관광·요식, 공학 중심 교류에서 나아가 인공지능(AI) 분야를 새롭게 포함해 ‘한·아세안 AI+X 융·복합 인재 양성 프로그램’을 운영한다. 계명대는 자체 AI 교육 인프라를 기반으로 아세안 학생들의 융합 역량 강화를 지원할 방침이다.

문화 교류도 병행된다. 계명대는 문화체육관광부가 주최하고 한국국제문화교류진흥원이 주관하는 ‘2026 어울림 한국문화페스티벌 대학지원 사업’에 선정됐다. 이를 통해 ‘K-Culture Bridge to Vietnam’ 프로그램을 운영하며, 베트남 호찌민과 나트랑 지역 대학생을 대상으로 태권도, 한국 전통무용, K-팝 댄스 공연 등 다양한 문화 콘텐츠를 선보일 예정이다.

김선정 국제부총장은 “아세안 국가와의 학생 교류를 지속적으로 확대하고 교육과 문화 교류를 연계해 글로벌 협력 기반을 강화하겠다”며 “계명대가 한국과 세계를 잇는 글로벌 브릿지 대학으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 노력하겠다”고 밝혔다.

한편 계명대학교는 교육부의 교육국제화역량인증제 평가에서 3년 연속 최고 등급인 ‘우수인증대학’에 선정되며 국제화 역량을 인정받고 있다. 현재 비수도권 대학 가운데 가장 많은 4,077명의 외국인 유학생이 재학 중이며, 유학생 지원 체계 고도화를 통해 글로벌 교육 경쟁력을 지속적으로 강화하고 있다.

 Keimyung University Accelerates Expansion of ASEAN Exchanges… Simultaneously Promoting AI Convergence Education and K-Culture

Based on its success in consecutive selections for national projects, Keimyung University is set to expand international exchanges with ASEAN nations and strengthen its global cooperation framework.

Keimyung University (President Shin Il-hee) announced that following the successful execution of the 2nd cycle of the CAMPUS Asia-AIMS project (2021–2025), organized by the Korean Council for University Education, it has been selected for the 3rd cycle as well. Accordingly, the university has laid the foundation to stably expand student exchanges with ASEAN nations by continuing the project for five years until 2030.

During the 2nd cycle, Keimyung University exchanged a total of 110 students in cooperation with nine universities in four ASEAN countries, and plans to expand the scale of dispatched and invited exchange students to 180 for the 3rd cycle.

The core of this 3rd cycle project is the expansion of the education sector. Moving beyond existing exchanges centered on language and culture, international trade, tourism and food service, and engineering, the university is operating the ‘Korea-ASEAN AI+X Convergence Talent Development Program’ by newly including the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Keimyung University plans to support the enhancement of convergence capabilities among ASEAN students based on its own AI education infrastructure.

Cultural exchanges will also be conducted in parallel. Keimyung University was selected for the ‘2026 Eoullim Korean Culture Festival University Support Project,’ hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange. Through this, the university will operate the ‘K-Culture Bridge to Vietnam’ program, showcasing various cultural content, such as Taekwondo, traditional Korean dance, and K-pop dance performances, to university students in Ho Chi Minh City and Nha Trang, Vietnam.

Kim Sun-jung, Vice President for International Affairs, stated, “We will continuously expand student exchanges with ASEAN countries and strengthen the foundation for global cooperation by linking education with cultural exchanges,” adding, “We will strive to establish Keimyung University as a global bridge university connecting Korea and the world.”

Meanwhile, Keimyung University is receiving recognition for its internationalization capabilities, having been selected as an "Excellent Certified University," the highest grade, for three consecutive years in the Ministry of Education's Internationalization Competency Certification System evaluation. Currently, 4,077 international students are enrolled, the largest number among universities outside the capital area, and the university is continuously strengthening its global educational competitiveness through the advancement of its support system for international students.
