【브레이크뉴스 대구 】이성현 기자=대구시가 팔공산에 구름다리를 건설하겠다던 당초 계획을 철회했다. 대구시는 22일 긴급 기자회견을 갖고 ‘팔공산 구름다리 설치사업’의 철회를 공식 발표했다.

팔공산 구름다리 설치 사업은 지난 2015년도 ‘제6차 대구관광종합발전계획’ 수립 당시 선도사업으로 선정해 문화재보호법과 자연공원법 등 수차례의 관련 법 심의를 통과시키면서 추진해 왔으나, 최근 들어 토지 소유주인 조계종이 “스님들의 수행 환경을 저해한다”는 이유로 반대하면서 난항이 이어져 왔다. 

대구시는  “수행환경에 지장 요인이 있다면 적극적으로 보완해 나가겠다”며 사업 강행 의지를 보이며 수차례 설득과 노력을 하였으나 조계종은 당초의 입장을 굽히지 않았다.

이에 대구시는 지난 18일 법조계, 학계, 언론 등 지역 각계 인사가 참여하는 자문회의를 열었다. 자문회의에서는 토지 소유주인 조계종이 반대할 경우에는 사실상 사업 추진이 힘들다는 의견이 많았던 것으로 알려졌다.

대구시는 22일 “①조계종의 사업철회입장에 변화가 없다는 점 ②조계종(동화사) 소유 부지매입 또는 사용승인 없이는 현실적으로 사업추진이 어렵다는 점  ③사업부지 확보없이 공사절차 진행시 감리비, 공사비 등 사업비가 추가로 투입된다는 점 등을 고려해 사업 철회라는 불가피한 선택을 했다”고 밝혔다.

사업이 철회됨에 따라 교부받은 국비 70억 원 중 25억원은 반납하고, 나머지 균특전환금 45억 원은 국가균형발전특별회계 시.도 포괄보조사업 목적에 맞게 대안사업에 투입할 예정이다.

As the project is withdrawn, 2.5 billion won of the 7 billion won in national debt received will be returned, and the remaining 4.5 billion won of kyun special return will be put into alternative projects for the purpose of comprehensive support projects in the national fungus development special accounting.
