김천대학교(총장 윤옥현) 간호학과가 높은 취업률으로 예비 대학생들의 눈길을 끌고 있다.
김천대학교는 43년 전통의 보건계열 명문 대학으로 간호학과는 3년간 졸업생 국가고시 98.7% 합격, 취업률 90% 이상을 달성한 것으로 알려진다.
간호학과는 지역사회를 선도하는 글로컬 융합형 인재 양성을 위해 전인간호를 위한 대상자, 건강, 간호 실무, 교육, 연구, 간호 전문직에 대한 통합적 교육과정을 운영하고 있으며 이외에도 간호의 자율성, 다학제간 협력증진, 간호 성과 향상, 간호 영역의 확장을 위해서도 노력하고 있으며, 이를 위해 학업성취 모니터링제, 책임교수제, 졸업인증제를 실시하고 있다.
간호 교육을 위해 2013년 개소한 엔젤시티는 △성인간호시뮬레이션실 △응급실 △집중치료실(ICU) △수술실(OR) △여성간호시뮬레이션실 △가족분만실(LDR room) △부인과 병동(GY Unit) △신생아 집중치료실(NICU) △SP 시뮬레이션실 △재난구조&BLS실 △핵심기술실습실 등이 갖춰져 있다.
김천대 관계자는 "김천대는 대구·경북 지역 4년대 사립대 중 취업률 1위를 기록하고 있으며, 재학생들을 위해 취업 전담 교수제를 운영한다. 이 외에도 1:1 취업 심층 컨설팅, 가상 면접 시뮬레이션 등을 통해 취업에 직접적으로 도움이 되는 다채로운 프로그램을 진행 중이다"고 강조했다.
