【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=김천대학교(총장 윤옥현) 축구부(감독 이창우)가 대학축구 U리그에서 결승에 진출하며 우승후보로 떠올랐다.

지난 10일 전주대에서 열린 대학축구 U리그 왕중왕전에서 전년도 우승팀인 전주대 축구부와 대결에 나선 김천대 축구부는 최은서 선수와 박정우 선수의 대활약으로 3대 1의 결과를 기록하며 결승에 진출했다는 소식을 전했다.

이에 따라 김천대 축구부는 창단 이후 첫 결승전을 치르게 될 예정으로 오는 16일 김천에서 단국대와 경쟁을 펼치게 된다.

준결승전은 시작 전부터 영호남의 강자를 가리는 자리답게 김천대 윤옥현 총장과 전주대 박진배 총장이 직접 경기를 관전하며 선수들에게 힘을 실어주었다.

원정팀인 김천대학교의 경우 교직원 및 학생 등 100여명의 응원단을 동원, 열띤 응원전을 벌여 홈과 원정의 경계를 무너뜨리며 선수들에게 승리를 향한 의욕을 배가시켰다.

올해부터 대학축구 U리그는 1부와 2부로 나뉘어 권역을 편성 진행되었으며 총88개 참여 대학팀 중 1부 4개 권역 우승자만이 왕중왕전에 진출했다.

김천대의 경우 4권역에서 2위 울산대를 승점 10점차로 여유 있게 따돌리며 권역 우승을 확정지은 반면, 단국대의 경우 아주대와의 초접전 끝에 권역 우승을 차지한 것으로 알려진다.
