【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=김천대학교(총장 윤옥현) 배드민턴부가 전북 정읍에서 개최한 2022 정향누리 전국연맹종별배드민턴선수권대회 남자대학부 단체전에서 준우승을 차지하는 쾌거를 올렸다.

2021년 창단해 전국대회 출전도 5회 미만인 풋내기인 김천대학교 배드민턴부는 올해 두 번째 전국대회에서 당당히 결승에 오르며 대학부 신흥강자로 자리매김하고 있다.

이번 대회에서 김천대학교 배드민턴부는 강력한 우승후보인 원광대학교와 결승전에서 맞붙어 3대0으로 준우승하는 결과를 얻었다.

창단 2년차에 준우승 감독이 된 김민호 감독은 “김천대학교 배드민턴부는 하나의 팀으로 준비하고 팀으로 완성되어졌다. 누구하나에 의지하기보다 서로가 서로를 믿고 받쳐주는 시스템이다. 그 준비과정이 너무나 힘들었는데 묵묵히 따라준 선수들이 고마울 뿐이다. 그리고 마지막 경기의 아쉬움보다 그 과정 속에서 빛난 수많은 움직임과 호흡 하나하나에 박수를 보내고 싶다.”며 모든 공을 선수들에게 돌렸다.

김천대학교 윤옥현 총장은 “지도자와 선수가 하나 되는 과정을 유튜브를 통해서 응원하며 확인할 수 있었다. 다섯 시간 가까운 경기를 무려 세 경기를 치루고 결승에 올랐는데, 그 지친 어깨너머에도 할 수 있다는 신념의 눈빛이 고스란히 전해졌는데 안타까움과 경이로움이 함께 했다. 지도자들의 헌신과 선수들의 땀들에 대한 결과에 진심으로 축하한다.”고 준우승 축하 메시지를 전했다.
