대경대학교 국제태권도학과는 세계태권도본부(국기원) 대표 시범단선발에서 3명이 최종선발, 2명이 후보선수로 발탁되었다고 18일 밝혔다.
대경대 국제태권도학과는 지난 9일 국기원 대표 시범단의 1차 영상오디션과 13일 2차 현장오디션을 거쳐 선발되었다.
이번 오디션에는 전국의 우수한 태권도 전공 관련자들이 지원한 가운데 대경대 국제태권도학과는 3명이 최종 선발되고 2명이 후보 선수로 등록되는 쾌거를 이루며 저력을 과시했다.
지난 2020년에도 국가대표시범단 3명이 선발이 되었던 대경대 국제태권도학과는 올해도 훌륭한 성적을 거두면서 자타가 인정하는 우수한 태권도학과로 인정받고 있다.
특히 국가대표 시범단 선발 뿐만 아니라 크로아티아 갓 탤런트 프로그램에도 학생 1명이 참여할 예정으로 아메리카 갓 탤런트 프로그램에서 태권도의 위상을 전 세계에 드높인데 이어 이번에는 크로아티아에서 또 한번 태권도의 바람을 일으킬 것으로 기대된다.
이채영 총장은 “각자의 분야에서 전문가로 성장시키기위해 항상 산학일체형을 강조하고 있으며, 이에 대한 결과로 국제태권도학과에서 우수한 성과를 이루어낸 것에 감격스럽다. 앞으로도 이러한 각자의 분야에서 더욱 빛이 날 수 있는 대경인을 배출하기 위하여 처음부터 끝까지 지원하겠다”라고 밝혔다.
