【브레이크뉴스 대구 】박은정 기자=  대구 달서구(구청장 이태훈)는 ‘자랑스러운 구민상’ 수상자 2명을 선정했다고 13일 밝혔다.

달서구는 매년 구정과 지역사회 발전을 위해 각 분야에서 헌신‧노력해 온 모범구민을 발굴해 구민의 자긍심을 고취하고 지역사회의 귀감으로 삼고자 ‘자랑스러운 구민상’을 시상한다.

올해는 지역경제·사회발전 부문 김창일씨(45세, ㈜가야축산K&U한우 대표이사), 사회봉사 부문 김종태씨(73세, 주민)를 수상자로 선정했다.

김창일씨는 2003년 1인 기업으로 ㈜가야축산을 설립해 끊임없는 한우 연구개발로 고성장을 이룬 기업인으로, 성공직업학교를 개소해 어려운 청년에게 정육가공 기술 전수 및 창업의 기회를 제공해 청년 고용 창출 및 지역경제 활성화에 기여했다. 

또 저소득 취약계층에 한우고기, 악기, 미술용품 지원 및 후원금 기부 등 다양한 사회환원활동을 하고 있다.

김종태씨는 41년간 교직에 근무하면서 학생들과 환경보호활동의 일환으로 재활용품을 수거하고 판매한 수익금과 사랑의 동전 모으기를 통해 난치병 어린이 돕기 및 장학금에 기부해 이웃사랑의 실천적 지도에 힘썼다.

마을청소와 꽃길조성, 무료급식, 지하철 안전 지킴이, 국경일 태극기 달기 등 다양한 봉사활동에 참여해 총 4,928시간(2,522회)에 달하는 사회공헌활동으로 실천하는 모범적인 봉사자로 지역사회의 귀감이 됐다. 

이번 제34회 자랑스러운 구민상 수상자에 대한 시상은 오는 22일 구민의 날 기념행사 시 거행될 예정이다. 

이태훈 달서구청장은“봉사와 희생정신으로 살기 좋은 지역사회 만들기에 기여해주신 수상자 분들께 진심으로 감사드리며, 앞으로도 숨은 공로자를 찾는데 노력해 구민의 귀감이 되도록 하겠다”고 밝혔다.

Mr. Kim Chang-il established Gaya Livestock Co., Ltd. as a one-person company in 2003 and achieved high growth through continuous research and development of Korean beef. Contributed to the revitalization of the local economy.

In addition, various activities to give back to society, such as providing Korean beef, musical instruments, art supplies, and donations to the low-income and vulnerable class, are being carried out.

While working as a teacher for 41 years, Kim Jong-tae collected recyclables as part of environmental protection activities with students, collected proceeds from sales and coins of love, helped children with incurable diseases, and donated scholarships to give practical guidance on loving neighbors.

He participated in various volunteer activities such as cleaning villages, creating flower roads, providing free meals, keeping subway safety guards, and hanging the national flag on national holidays, totaling 4,928 hours (2,522 times) of social contribution activities.

The awards for the 34th Proud Citizens Award winners will be held on the 22nd during the Citizens' Day celebration.
