대구시의회에 따르면  예결위는 지난 8일부터 13일까지 진행된 대구광역시 예산안 종합심사를 통해 제출예산액 대비 112억 원이 감소한 규모의 예산안을 수정가결했다.

예산결산특별위원회는 이번 예산 심사에서 대구시의 건전재정정책에 따라 편성된 예산안이 단순 채무감축과 예산삭감에 치우친 부분은 없는지, 꼭 필요한 현안사업이나 시민들의 생계와 복지에 직결된 민생예산에 소홀함이 발생하지 않았는지에 중점을 두고 면밀히 심사를 진행했다고 전했다.

특히, 선심성이나 일회성의 예산낭비나 관례에 따라 무책임하게 편성한 방만한 예산을 없애기 위해 거듭 검토하고 따져 예산을 조정하고 시급한 민생과 복지예산을 우선 반영하여 대구시 제출예산액 대비 총 112억 원을 감액했다.

예산결산특별위원회 김재용 위원장은 “내년도 대구시 예산을 통해 대구시민 누구나 일상의 곳곳에서 재정의 온기를 충분히 느낄 수 있도록 그 어느 해보다 무거운 사명감을 가지고 심사하였다”면서 “우리 시민들이 환하게 웃을 수 있고 지역경제가 힘차게 도약하는 희망의 원년이 될 수 있도록 대구시와 대구시의회 모두가 함께 노력할 것이다“라고 마무리했다.
